I was called today by some idiot at (877) 315?971?6. They wouldn't tell me who they were with. They just kept asking for __________ . My first name only. I like the one's that jump right in as if they've known you for decades. "Hi, Marie? How are you doing? Hey, I'm calling about that invoice."
"Which invoice?" (I have a business and I bill so I think it is an actual customer calling)
"The one you owe for your Google advertising." (*Google does not call people. Not ever! This is an off shore scam crew who steal your money if you're dumb enough to "pay" via a credit card. And if you pay via debit you're beyond stupid!)

How do you get rid of trash like that? Easy. Get rude! Remember the NSA monitors phones now. ;)

"Hey scum bag! I told you that I will never give you money to support your fake al qaeda front! You should be ashamed of yourself you terrorist MotherF....! Lying that you're Google when you're working for al qaeda! Go to Hell and get off the phone that the NSA is monitoring and tracing right to your terrorist a** as we speak!"

Works! They've never called me again.

As for the scum that calls from (877) 315?971?6, if you press *67 to disguise your phone number and then call them back you get a voice mail that doesn't even tell you who they are.

For them it was really easy. After I asked three different times who the caller was with, while he kept asking for Marie, I finally said. Look man, when you're ashamed of who you work for f*** off!

:) Get rude! Get very rude! Many companies don't call back because their company rules won't let them.

These people called our company again today at 1549 hrs.  A young-sounding man asked to speak with the owner of the business. I told him the owner works on the road and asked if I could help him.  He was calling about our Verizon business account.  I asked him are you actually from Verizon.  Unlike the previous time they called, he actually admitted he was not from Verizon but was calling about...   I immediately snapped, "Not interested.  Don't call again," and disconnected.

Got a call from "Adam" claiming to be calling on behalf of Verizon. I know for a fact that Verizon does not make calls unless they are responding to a call from you. Hung up and called the 877 number that came up on caller ID. Got a voice message saying that "All of their customer service people were busy, and to leave my name, business name, and telephone number"
Obviously a scam.

These jerks keep calling but don't say anything at all; they then hang up. When I call the number back it only goes to voicemail, no way of identifying the caller.
However, since it is a toll free number, I have been calling them repeatedly today and leaving long drawn out voice mails by smply putting them on hold. At 10 cents a minute I am sure they will soon regret pestering me.

Called the number back and got a recording. Left them a message with a fake business name with instructions to please call back. I'm not going to tell you what number I left but use your imagination. Local police, State police, FBI, IRS, one of the Brothels in Nevada and the list goes on, you get the picture. Have fun.

I received numerous calls from this number. One day w/out thinking I actually answered one. I was greeted by an Indian speaking guy calling from an obvious boiler room "from Verizon." He wanted to speak "with the boss" which I promptly told him wasn't in. When I pressed him for the reason for the call he said" its to offer you a 35% discount on yur next bill" which I immediately knew was BS since Verizon NEVER offers discounts. All he needed was to record a few questions & needed verification that I was over 21, the last four digits of my SS# & my mothers maiden name; ya ok!  I said" why don't I just give you my birthdate & my complete SS# also, this way you won't have to work so hard to steal my identity?" Now here's the kicker & hold onto your seats, he murmured, "F-you!" I said what did you say & he blurted out, "F-YOU!" Told him, not today pal &  HAVE A GREAT DAY SCAMMING!

I just spoke with Verizon (after trying to negotiate through one of their annoying automated answering systems) and, naturally, they don't know anything about this caller, which doesn't necessarily mean it wasn't legit.  However, the very friendly customer service rep offered to put our phone number on their company's do-not-call list so we won't get any solicitation calls from Verizon (though it will take up to 30 days to kick in.)  Which means, if I get any calls after 30 days from someone claiming they're from Verizon, I'll immediately KNOW it's a lie.  She also confirmed that a PIC freeze is forever (unless you move, and then you have to request it again at your new location.)  I suspect this call might have been an attempt to try to "slam" our phone service (Illegally switch our service to an unauthorized provider).

Because I wasn't convinced the guy really was from Verizon, I blocked our # and called the number back.  I immediately got a generic answering machine, no company identification.  When I pressed 1 to speak with a live representative, it rang and rang and rang and then another generic recording urged me to leave my name, company name, and phone number.  I left a message instead, pointing out that, if they really were from Verizon, like they claimed, they would have identified their company in their message and said, "Good try @$$holes."  Our company has gotten many calls from people claiming to be from our phone company but really are not.  As this particular butt-wipe had said he was calling "on behalf of Verizon" it automatically indicates he does not actually work FOR Verizon, which meant he lied - twice - when I specifically asked him that question.

A John called "on behalf of Verizon" (and insisted he really did work for Verizon) wanting to speak with the boss or whoever was in charge of managing our phone service.  When I asked what he wanted, he repeated needing to speak with (boss' name) yadda, yadda.  I informed him the boss doesn't work in the office, that he works on the road.  He asked again to speak with whomever made decisions about our phone service so I asked him again what he wanted.  He wouldn't tell me, kept insisting he had to speak with whomever was in charge of it.  I asked him, "What?  Is it some kind of state secret?"  Apparently it must be secretive stuff because he said he'd call (boss' name) again later.  As I'm reminding him that I already told him the boss doesn't work in the office, he hangs up in my ear.  Oh, yeah, I'm really inclined to do business with people who behave like that.  Undoubtedly, he thought he was getting snooty with some secretary but - surprise! - *I* am the one who makes the phone decisions.  Way to go "John Verizon #5."  Dumbass.

Looking for 'Diana', claimed to be from 'Verizon', and wanted to know who managed the 'communication account' at an address where I lived about 6 years ago.  Then they hung up.  (By the way, I'm not 'Diana'.)
