Received call from a Nina, said she was a private contrator for Hyperion.  
Said she was working as free agent and had to serve papers.  Had my name, phone number and SS#.  Very scary.  
Number she called from was 214-306-0617.  
I have reported her and this company to FTC and State Attorney Generals office.

No they do not come to your home or work. Be mean right back to them though, they will start threatening you but do not ever show up. Tell them you no longer are at that number or that you no longer work there, they dont know the difference and stop calling.

I am getting the same calls at work.  They first called me and told me I have a summons for court and to call the 18773400409 number to confirm my address or they will be coming to my place of work.  Has anyone else who had this happen to them actually get someone to come to their job????

I just received a call at my place of work. I couldn't take the call so I asked the receptionist to put the caller into my voicemail. So, I DO at least have a voicemail mssg to turn over to authorities. The mssg included the caller's 1st name ONLY, with a cmpany name of J&R Processing and a case number. He gave me  the 877-340-0409 # to call "to avoid coming to my place of work", as he put it. I'm glad I found this site and was able to see all of the comments left here before I called the number.

I was contacted by these people and they only wanted to recive a credit card or checking acct payment. never verified who the loan was WITH or account number or anything ... really weird . I have been scammed before earlier this year and will not be scammed again

I knew something was up when I seen that number come across my phone. I asked them what they wanted they told me they had to serve me with papers and to also up date my information with a new number. I WILL CALL THEM TONIGHT.

i called hyperion in ref to my account and paid them i understand i did owe the debt however they were collectors but i did take out the loan with pay day loan company. i guess i was wrong for opening account and closing it after i recieved the money

Horrible people even calling my family & friends trying to scare them!! I called Sherriff's Dept they can & will not call to let you know if they have a summons or warrant they will just show up!! They do not have one for me because I do not have any pay day loans!! Geee people get a real job & stop scamming people who work hard for their money!!

It's not a scam.  It's a collection Agency that works with online payday loans.  I had a few that I had been working on getting taken care of but I missed one.  They turned it over to Hyperion who then hires an outside process server to serve the legal documents if needed.

they called  my daughter she said I was working  and then called my and they told me the last four of my security number and  the  said I had committed a fraud if  a don't pay today  $415.00 hi will serve me with papers to appear in court.

hey omg u need to report it. it is a scam. did they give u any other information about themselves can you call them back if your getting dial tone or voice mail or numerno longer exist u got scamed. don't do it again let them sendu a bill etc explaining wat u owed. dont fel bad same happened to me. report it asap f.b.i . or better buisness bureau.

I just received a call from a Texas number from a so-called process server.  He was clearly in an office setting, as i could hear the hum of computers and other machines as well as the faint hum of voices in the background.  Yet he was supposed to be "right outside my door" at my workplace, but out of "courtesy" for me, he wouldn't serve me at work.  He even had the last four of my social security number and said he had to serve me with papers to appear in court.  But that the filer needed me to call them to confirm and update my information. I told him I'd come outside and get them , he said NO, I have to verify the info first.  Then I even offered to give him my address (I was going to give him my old address though) just to see what he said and he said no, call the company, update your information with them then I'll come to your house tonight and serve the papers.  I knew then it was a scam, but I figured it was someone trying to get the rest of my information so they can steal my identity and use my credit (fat chance there). And with all the so-called ID theft going on with the IRS and tax returns, there was no way I was giving this guy my information over the phone.  What I am going to do is call the 877 number and give them a good cussing out for calling my place of business.  Now I realize it is probably a Payday loan debt collector.  The thing is, if you can get payday loans, get them.  Because since they are illegal in many states, they started caling themselves something else to get under the radar.  But they backfired on themselves because if you don't pay the money back, and CLOSE your account, there is ABSOLUTEL NOTHING they can do legally.  THey can do things like this to harrass you, but they can't come after you.  So I say, USE THEM TIL YOU CANT USE THEM ANYMORE.  If you can withstand a bit of harrasing, it's worth it to beat them at their own game.

shill you must not have a job? you spend more time not paying your bills and advising the people with defaulted accounts to not pay? is there something wrong with you if bill collectors belong in jail where do people like "shill alert " go?

These people just called my job and cell phone number also.  I just called them and told them I have turned over their phone number to the FBI.  It's just a shame that people are going around taking advantage of other people.

Debra is calling me stating she is from the Sheriffs office and is gong to come to my work. i have no idea what this is for but this is getting ridiculous. If i owed money for something shouldn't have i recieved something in the mail. No these people call and harrass you at work, home and cell. how do you get this to stop.

I have received many phone calls from this number, as well as numerous others numbers all seeming to be affiliated with one another. On 6/15/2012, I received a voice mail from an "Unknown" number and when I went to check the voice mail, it was a who said she was with SBC Courier Services and that she had a parcel for me to sign for. She stated that this 'debt' is attached to my social security number, and that SBC would be at my home address between 12:00pm and 4:00pm on Monday, which is today (6/18/2012). In order for me to receive my parcel (a scheduled delivery of legal documents) I need to show TWO different types of proof of identification and that it is required that I be home at the time of service. She also said that if I fail to be home at that time, then they are required and would show up at my place of employment in which case a supervisor and/or manager would need to be present as a witness of said parcel delivery. She then proceeded to tell me that if I needed to reschedule or find out other information and find other means of settling this problem, to call the filing parties claimant office at  877-340-0409 ex. 311.

I am SO sick of these people calling me and trying to scare me into giving them money that I DO not owe them. I will be contacting my Sheriff's department and local Attorney General's office about this.

DO NOT give out any of your personal information, and DO NOT fall for these scare tactics. Companies like this are not legitimate and should be stopped from conning any more money out of innocent people.

I received this same call yesterday from a Processor with a 214 area code and she gave the number to the Hyphrion Collection Agency and I she asked me to confirm that the last of my social was **** and transferred me to a James Randall.He said that i borroed fron a company back in 2008 and the government passed a law for Payday Lenders to collect money even after they were shut down. I dont have a problem with paying my debt, i just would like to make sure that im NOT BEING SCAMMED...so my question is are they a legal company???

You mean it would stop the extortion you're committing? Doubt it! That'll stop when you go to jail where you belong.

I received a phone call from a so called process servers office (didn't identify themselves) but gave me a number to call (877) 340-0409. I called and spoke to Lisa/Hyperion Recovery and She said i will be served a summons for what she said was a felony because they tried to take out payday loan amount and was told insufficient funds. I tried to tell her I filed bankruptcy as I had credit card/payday loan debt. Other companies I dealt with took my file number and closed account and were added to my attorney's list of of creditors i had. But for some reason Hyperion refused to accept the bankruptcy info and out right said I intentionally denied wanting to make payments. Now Lisa/Hyperion puts me on hold, comes back and says they can accept payments of 181.67 per month for 3 months. What gives, first i was told i will be served notice for court appearance but now they can accept payments. Something doesn't quite sound right.
