Credit agencies are dicks and anyone who supports them is a douche, so Mike you know what you are. My ADVICE IS TO CONTINUE AVOIDING THEM---they have a hard time doing anything to your credit rating until they make contact with you---much like being served court papers. I'm a pro at avoiding these @#ckers, been doing it for years, and I still have a good credit rating, plenty of functioning credit cards, and can get approved to buy pretty much anything on a moment's notice.

Legitimate debt collectors not only provide written documentation of debt, as is the law, they *want* to do so. Think about it ? a person who just pays off every undocumented yahoo who phones up demanding money will have nothing left in the bank when *real* bill collectors come around.

Legitimate collectors *want* you to demand proof. Anyone who doesn't is a fraud.

Why are you trying to argue a point that no one here is opposed to?

If they're so legitimate, then they would have no problem mailing proof that you actually owe a debt and that they have the legal right to collect said debt.  Refusal to mail proof of debt is a violation of the FDCPA.  Refusal to also stop contacting third parties (work, family) and disclosing the reason for the call is yet another violation.  No one should EVER pay any caller - who could be any Tom, Dick or Harry - without first receiving documentation proving they owe the alleged debt to the caller.  So take your "concern" elsewhere.

This is a legitimate collection agency. If they're trying to call you, it means you are VERY past due on payment for something. Ignoring them will only make your situation worse, and destroy your credit. Just man up and take the call. It's for your own good, and the good of your family, that this bill get paid ASAP, whatever it may be.

In Quebec you can request that they stop calling you and that they communicate with you exclusively by mail.

This number claimed as a collection agency. When you call in, they dont tell you who they are but keep bucking you for your personal information for their clarification. If you dont give them, very bad attitude and rude.

J'ai reçu un appel d'eux hier, vers 11h enfin 2, à la 2ieme fois il a laissé un message, et aujourd'hui il a téléphoné à 8 heures et il a laissé un message directement, je comprend pas tout ce qu'il dit à cause de l'accent mais il semble s'appeler "Stroy" de AIC et veux parler à un Daniel Couture et ce n'est pas moi. J'ai ce numéro que depuis 12 jours !! Il dit dans le premier message, blablabla rapeller au 1 877 451 2610 poste 6130, et à la fin il dit "C'est vraiment important pour vous".

Le 2ième message laissé aujourd'hui est différent mais semblable, ce qui me laisse croire que ce n'est pas un message pré enregistré comme certains on eu ici, il me dit encore que c'est pour Daniel Couture et de rappeler Stroy mais à la fin il ajoute de le rappeler quand même, même si ce n'est pas moi Daniel Couture pour qu'il m'enlève de la liste mais je ne sais pas trop quoi faire.. mon nom entier est affiché sur l'afficheur quand je téléphone, j'ai pas envie qu'il ai mes infos et qu'il ce mette à me harceler pour aucune raison :\

Mais j'ai "peur" qu'il me harcèle comme certain dans les commentaires sur ce site si je ne répond pas, bref dans les 2 cas j'ai peur qu'on me harcèle lol

Le pire dans ça c'est que j'ai ce numéro que depuis seulement 12 jours, donc avant il était inactif, comment eux la-bas après des mois d'inactivité ils savent que ce numéro est réactivé, et comment il peuvent s'imaginer que ça va être la même personne qui va répondre, ils doivent pas faire ce job que depuis hier, ils devraient savoir comment ça fonctionne tout ça et pas faire chier les gens qui n'ont rien avoir dans ça :\

I get a call from this number every day since I got this new phone, it seem that the call is for someone that had this number before it was issued to me. They leave a message saying, "This is Tom Miranda. Have I got a deal for you !" I can't find out where the number originates from But it seems to be from the states. It is possibly a scam setup. My phone is a cell phone so I will not call them due to excessive charges .

Doesn't affect me neither. Because my debts is more then 3 years old and you can't do s*** but lost your time calling here.

go ahead, dont answer our calls but its not affecting our credit, nor are our bills increasing with interest so w.e its all up to you haha doesn't affect us, we get paid regardless :)

The company you own money to can do something (sue you) but not them. The only thing they can do it's to hope you will pay. That's it.

the answer to this question is sooo simple.. pay yours bills or pick up phone and talk with us and then we dont have to call you every single day :) there are some nice collectors out there but think about it.. if you were trying to get a hold of someone for over a month just to talk with them.. and you couldnt.. wouldnt you be a little more harsh when stressing the fact that you NEED them to call you back?? you agreed to paying your bills so its your responsibility.

these prix have a machine calling me every day and its starting to tick me off. They are calling for a John Higgins. My name and number have nothing to do with a John higgins! If this is a collections agency its the worst of its kind! I can't ven call them back with the number they leave in the message! What a waste of skin these people! I'll bet you any money they are into identity theft or something similar!

Moi aussi j'ai reçu une lettre et des appels de cette compagnie. C'est une agence de recouvrement si vous avez un compte qui n'est pas payé depuis quelque temps (cellulaire, achat à crédit, etc.) ils veulent simplement vous collecter.

Est-ce que quelqu'un sait si c'est une vraie compagnie? Moi j'ai envoyé de l'argent au début et tout à coup ils ne m'appelent plus mais je n'ai pas fini de payer le compte au complet, donc je trouve ça très douteux!

They have been calling for a few weeks now every few days. They are always leaving a message for a different person, who is not me of course. I am actually on the Canadian Do not call registry so I believe this would make them elligible for a fine.

I get the voice recording from this 1-877-451-2610 twice a day for the last few months. They fill up my voice mail.

I fill a complain to CRTC but the they have no idea when they will look at my complain. CRTC asks me to file a complain every time I get a call. Not very comforting.
