I received a call from 877-515-6007 from Nikki Davenport with Merchant Solutions or Merchant Services. She wanted to know if I could meet with her representative (Paul McRoberts) that would be in the area (3 hours away) on the following Thursday.  I told her that I was unaware that Intuit needed to ever meet with me because everything has always been done over the phone and via email.  I asked her for her local phone number, so I could check my schedule and call her back and she gave me 714-657-3799 .  She wanted me to fax her my most recent merchant statement to 714-908-0312., so they could give me a rebate of up to 30%.  I was very suspicious because I have never received a call from Intuit that I didn't first initiate.  I am so thankful that I looked this up.  Intuit Payment Solutions Merchant Statement is the formal name on my real billing statement.  I called Intuit- They told me that no one would call to change service- my service stays the same unless I initiate the change.  Sheesh. I don't have time for this?...

I received the same call, from Phillip Johnson.  He says we were overcharged on merchant fees, by 2%.  I needed to fax to him, while he waited on hold, our merchant statement so they could correct it.  Many red flags here - for one, he used the wrong name for our account, and two, if our bank made an error, they can correct it without me having to fax them our statement that came from them to begin with!  The telephone number is:  800-256-1035 x1012, and the fax number is:  877-515-6007.  I am trying to find out where to report this fraud.

He stated that there was a law past last year by DICK DURBIN  that small businesses should only be charge 1.79% for credit card processing, and we were over that percentage and we were being charged too much! $89.50 a Month for the past 2 months, than Later he said we were over charged $89.58, than later again changed it to $89.50 for both months together.??????
Person I spoke with was Kevin Blake, who I could barley Understand, he stated we had a red flag on account and he needed to verify if we were being overcharged. And once he got our fax he could mail it to Visa and Mastercard to get me some money back and to stop this debauchery.
He wanted me to fax to him our statement, so's he could fax it to Visa and Mastercard. He insisted in having me cross off our Merchant ID Number with a big black marker, said he'd stay on the phone while i faxed it to him in Texas! I drew a picture of a middle finger on a blank piece of paper and wrote F*** You A***ole! on it than faxed it right over! :)
The fax number is 1-877-515-6007 and
contact number 1-800-256-1038 x1016.

I do credit card processing and one of my merchants was contacted by this same scam.  Tip to you businesses out there.  Your processor would never call asking for your statements because they have them!  Other posts here said they said Durbin law was to make sure small and medium businesses didn't pay the "corporate" rates.  Guess what, the big guys like Wal-Mart and Target pay lower rates.  There were also posts that said they got on the phone and helped you save money with your current processor for no fee.  Obviously these are fake posts.  Do you, as a business owner, work for free?  Guess what, nobody works for free.  There is nobody hired by the government to contact small businesses, etc.  They are using the Durbin amendment which is in the news to sound official.  There was also something about accounts being red flagged and you had to fax your statements as soon as possible to remove the flag.  It is a scare tactic.  Do not deal with these people.  Contact your processor or another legitimate source and avoid these guys like the plague!

The call was about Merchant Fees.  She stated that there was a law past last year (October 2011) that small business should only be charge 1.79% for credit card processing.  And if we were over that percentage we were being charged too much.
She came off as an official agency representing the government and that we had a red flag on account and she needed to verify if we were being overcharged. And once she checked she could remove the red flag.
We went through some number crunching and then she wanted me to fax to her our statement.
I was not willing to fax her anything. The fax number is 1-877-515-6007 and contact number 1-800-256-1038 x1043. Person I spoke with was Nikki.

I received a phone call from "Merchant Solutions" yesterday saying they over charged my business on processing fees and needed me to get my June statement so they could issue a refund to me.  Obviously, I am not giving any business information out to anyone I did not call - told them I was busy and would call back tomorrow.  I went on-line to my actual merchant to get my statement and verify their contact number, and guess what - not the number I was given yesterday!!!  BEWARE!

This company calls and misrepresents themselves. They called, claiming to be from Bank of America, and wanted us to fax them a copy of our Merchant statement so that they can "reduce our rates and issue a refund".
