Same scenario. They called looking for my sister saying she has an application she didn't complete. Then they tried to get me to reveal information. I asked what the application was for and they wouldn't answer. Don't give them any information. Who knows what they'll do with it.

They've called me looking for my son of "private business matter."  The guys name was Mr. Ross and he said he with with GC Services.  Who are they.

Got a call from this number yesterday asking for my neighbor.  Can you believe that!  Said they have a matter to discuss with them.

This is just one more number that calls, waits for voicemail, and then hangs up. They never leave a message. I have no idea who it is. I have also tried googling the number, no result.

These are GC Services. They usually are debts collectors. However they could help to reinstall the American Education Student Loans establishing payment agreements and prevent the government direct collection from your paycheck based on your Social Security Number

AGHHHHHHHH! I JUST GOT A NOTICE RATHER THEN MY TAXES RETURN THE MONEY WENT TO ONE OF MY DEBTS AND TO CALL THIS SAME NUMBER FOR HELP, LOL THEY TOOK THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS FROM ME THROUGH THE IRS

I wish I would have called this number back, you are right this is regarding wage garnishment for federal loans student loans and because they are federal they do not need to contact you, I ignored my calls, and messages from friends and next thing you know my check was missing 200+ dollars and I could have stopped this but now I have to pay on top of the garnishment, some of you , I wish would have researched this because of your lack of knowledge , and me taking your advise I am diffently experiancing such a hardship, loans dont go away they will get us , just hope some of you will call before it is to late and your really hurting I  post this to help you, call them back, they have your info for a reason

877-551-9781 Bad number do not answer... It is a crime that the Government can stop anyone from being free in America, but cant find the people and stop crime on phones Whow!

The caller ID on my phone was 215-987-3012. When I tried googling the number, nothing came up. I listened to the VM and they left this number.  Just a word of advice: if you want to see who it is, call from a different number (work) - if you don't call them from the number they dialed, it doesn't go through.

On my return from vacation, I had a voicemail on my work phone from a guy who called himself Chris and gave me this number - 1-877-551-9781 ext. 47665 to call him back.  Though the caller ID on my phone was 443-737-2163.  I looked up both on reversephone and they came up "private number" so I searched Google and found this for the 877 number.

A person identifying himself as Chris called from this number attempting to speak to the head of human resources and asked for employee social security numbers.  The caller would explain why he needed this information.  No information was provided as the call seemed to be a scam.

Wrong these people calling are posing as GC Services, but they are not the real company.  Do not give them your information

GC Services do perform certain services, but the number given is not GC Services, its a scamer trying to pose as the company.

Make sure you tell your work to not release information to the scammers

These people are calling attempting to gain social security numbers using various types of scams, from debt collection to, credit applications, etc.  Do not tell them anything about yourself, they claim to be from a Federal Agency, and after I made several calls, the agency director got involved, stating "These callers are not employees of my agency, and we do not ask for personal information over the phone."

Beware they will attempt to gain your SS# from your work payroll department also!

They are a company that is going to help you not get wage garnishment and your income tax withheld. If you owe school loans or anything else to the government.

Got a call this morning asking for personal information on someone I don't even know very well. Ended by giving me this number and asking me to have the person call them. They said it was a reference request for personal business. Gave me "extension 40978" for me to pass on.

I received a message from a guy identifying himself as Chris and asking me to call him.  He said to ask about file #29568.

He didn't leave any helpful info, so I didn;t call him back.  I was hoping that googling this number would give me a company name so I could figure out what kind of scam this is.

this is gc services they collect for ATT,,Sprint , BMW and Apple

calling all my family never say who they are but keep saying federal papers to sign, blocked the number and says gg services

Have no idea who this was from, they didn't say anything when I answered, silence then a hang-up. Tried Googling the number, it doesn't show up anywhere either. Thought I'd post in case anyone else gets called by this number.

These a***oles called again, different story this time. All over the map, asking about a federal application, once again asking for my friend, then asking about payroll services I might;ve used.

Same deal as Chrissy above. They called my parents house, looking for a friend of mine. Interesting.

I got a call from them telling me that they are calling in reference to my social security number being flagged for wage garnishment! I almost freaked thinking what the heck for??? I though it was the company that processes my paychecks at work. I am willing to bet they would have tried to get me to tell them my social security number if I called back.

My parents keep getting a call from this number, the people claim to be bill collectors, and they are looking from one of my friends from high school, I called my friend and she has no debt, so it is some sort of scam people.
