Got a text on my cell phone saying thank you Rikki (not my name or anyone I know) call this number for your free 200.00 wal mart gift card...gave the 877 number to call back but came from 310-654-9028

RECEIVED A CALL ON MY CELL FROM (302) 394-6908. THEY SAID THEIR COMPANY IS CARE EXPRESS AND THEY ARE IN CLEARWATER FLORIDA. AGENT SPOKE BROKEN ENGLISH VERY SLOWLY AND OFFERED A $100.00 WALMART GIFT CARD IF I GIVE THEM A CREDIT CARD NUMBER TO VERIFY I CAN PAY A $2.95 PROCESSING FEE WHEN I RECEIVE IT.  I WOULD NOT GIVE THEM ONE WITHOUT AN EMAIL OF THEIR COMPANY INFORMATION.  SAID THEY ARE A PROMOTIONAL COMPANY AND THEIR EMPLOYER'S NUMBER IS 808 35.  THE MANAGER GOT ON THE PHONE AND HE SAID HIS NAME IS SHAWN REYNS.  I SAID NO THANK YOU AND THINK IF IT IS A PROMOTION AND TRUE INFO THEY WOULD HAVE KNOW SOMETHING ABOUT ME, MY NAME OR HOW THEY GOT MY NUMBER.

I'm sorry, but this is much worse than that. Please notify your card holding company and set locks and limitations.  Also cancel your card to get a new one.  Change your phone no. and all.  I have been through the same thing and they almost cleared my whole acct because i thought it was just 2.95. came to find out, i had many more unauthorized charges next round.  Everything has cleared up now, but i am still unable to reach the company completely to cancel.  They give me the run around and actually stated, in order to assist me they would have to update my info.  "to put me in the scam again".  Run! and hide!

I fell for this like an idiot and gave out my name, credit card #, and address but then didn't want to listen to their "offers" and was told the whole thing would be cancelled. I have the 5.95 charge in my pending transactions and called the cancel number someone listed and was told that it would be returned to my card. I would just like to know from anyone else who fell for this, am I just out 5.95 or is this REALLY bad like identity theft? I could consider $5.95 a lesson learned and move on but I am scared that this is much much worse than that.

And how would you know they got raided? Sounds like you are on this too.. ha

Total scam! do not fall for this... they did the 5.95 transaction promptly; hopefully that is all I am out.

so you guys think its all a scam well i hate to tell you its not. they got raided by the feds about 2-3 wks ago and the feds couldnt find anything wrong with what they are doing. they are sending out $200 gift vouchers NOT a Gift Card. :D hope you all feel great when you think its a scam but the feds put it throu the clear :3

Yes, its illegal, but the scammers are hard to catch.   The only thing they need is a phone line and a list of phone numbers.  They could be anywhere, and they move often.

Level 3 is probably the owner of the line - it's who the scammer pays to own the line, kind of like your cell phone number really belongs to AT&T or Sprint, etc.

I think this is somehow tied to a debt collector.  Some a****ole named Peter Smith has been giving his creditors my phone number.  I have owned this number for over 10 years, and I have never known anyone named Peter Smith.  I also don't owe anyone one red cent.  But for the past year, I have been getting VERY annoying calls from his creditors, who refuse to believe that I don't know him.

Well, I got this text yesterday and it is addressed to Peter.  It reads:
"Peter Free $200 Retail Gift Voucher.  Get yours today by taking our quick 4-question survey..." blah blah blah...you know the rest.  

Now why in the world would they think this was Peter Smith's number if they didn't get the info from a creditor or collection agency?

I just got the same thing, I called and they asked me to pay a small shipping fee, I don't know about you but I've never heard of anyone giving out 200.00 gift vouchers for a 5.00 shipping payment. Scam for sure!

yes, i got the same message and gave them all my information. they also were sending me trial coupons. it felt weird after so i called that 877 cancelation number and the lady had no idea what i was talking about. i called wal mart because the main text said i won a $200 voucher and they also had no idea. i called the phone that the text was from and it is a private sprint phone! it seems as though you and i have been scammed

I too got the same text message from the phone number talked about above, called them, got the run around but it sounded pretty convincing. Gave them my card number to charge $4.95 to my card for shipping and handling. They said that the card would be to me in 7-10 days. It is now 7-10 days ago, and still no card. So I take it NO ONE actually got the card huh?

find out where their office is and deliver a pizza to them personally. make them give you a tip as well.

Text messages from Alliance Marketing Intranet(Trifecta Marketing) alias Walmart, phone number 877-680-4175, scam, scam, scam. Had to cancel credit card to keep them from charging every month, which my bank told me they could do, and for much larger amounts then the $4.95 they wanted for shipping and handling. The charge went through right away the same day as phone call. Tried to call number for canceling (877-456-6289) and got a recording which was a lot of hooey. The guy who called me was talking about his family, which I did not ask about, and don't know, and don' care to know, and took a long time to get around to the point of the call. He tried to push three programs which cost money every month, to save me money, what a bunch of monkey business. I declined all programs but fell for the card. He recorded our conversation, would not give a address for his company because of secutity reasons ( I guess they are afraid of reprisals). He said he was from Illinois and had moved to Clearwater Florida and loved it. Ha. Be afraid, be very afraid!!!!!!!

I called this number and they wanted my credit card number so they could bill for shipping and handling to send me the $200.00 Walmart gift card which would probably only cost postage.  I told them I left my credit card at home and they just told me to call back when I had it.  I called Walmart and they told me they don't do things like that and I gave them the phone number and they said that they would would report it.

I received the same message, from different # 16463055429. It may be a scam.

I just received a text message from 310-654-9828 saying I have been selected to receive a FREE $200 Wal-Mart Gift Voucher Call 877-680-4175 ASAP.  I called the 310-654-9828 number and it said the mailbox was full.  I'm going on my Verizon Account to block the number and I advise everyone else to do the same.

tHIS IS WHAT I FOUND IN RESEARCH AS TO THE OWNER OF THIS PHONE NUMBER, I THINK LEVEL 3 IS A REAL COMPANY AND SOMEONE ELSE IS USING THEIR NUMBER BUT IM NOT SURE. ALL I KNOW IS THAT THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE SCAM AND I WISH THE GOVERNMENT WOULD DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS CRAP

WE ALSO GOT THIS SAME CALL THAT WE GOT A $200 GIFT CARD FROM WALMART ASKING FOR ABOUT $5.00 ON A CREDIT CARD. I REVERSE 411 ED THE NUMBER AND IT CAME BACK AS NO LISTING. THIS IS THE MOST COMMON RED FLAG FOR SCAMS (AN UNLISTED NUMBER). DONT RISK IT PEOPLE!

I just received a text and I returned the call. They were saying that I won a $200 gift card but that I had to pay a small handling fee of $4.95 and would I put it on a legitimate credit or debit card? I said "Not now. It feels weird." She tried to allay my fears, but then started with the pressure tactics, "one time offer" and "ends today". I said that I wanted to research it first and her tone changed. Started saying "I don't know HOW you would research it b/c we don't have a website" and became condescending. I hung up on her. She had said that she got my info from me filling out a survey and don't I remember it? Ummm, no.
