We keep on getting calls from this number, every day, they leave messages and finally I decided to talk to them, I told them to stop calling, If I get one more call from that number I will report them to the Do not Call, or Privacy Act, kept on wanting personal info, my posta address, my first name, I told him if they had any disputes with me to call the police or go to the court house and file their claim or complaint. I would hire my lawyer, then they said that they sent me a letter, I asked what was the letter all about, would not give me the info, he would give me the info if I disclosed my name and addrss and other stuff. It is obvious a scam of some kind, I knew from the start that is why I never answered their other calls, but this time I just wanted to see what the hell they were up to. Unfortunatley some people get scared or are to nice and get scammed. No me to smart for them been around the block too long. LMAO

An app called Call Control is the best thing going. It was around $6. In the settings you can block Private, Unknown, Fake Caller IDs, Non-Numeric Sender IDs, Toll Free, or anything that is listed in an Online Community Blacklist. You can set it to go directly to Voicemail or Hang Up. There are also settings to let in certain calls that fall under the descriptions but are ok to you. I love it. No unwanted calls past the first time they call. Then you set the block and no more. :-) http://everycall.us/

Hi this is a collections company fishing fo9r info
They pretend to be a range of fake organizations, such as a Security Officer, Music promoter, Revenue Canada,  even the Tree cutting and Water company. Once they get you on the phone they will ask you to verify your Date of Birth, Address, email, cell numbers, where you work etc

As a rule of thumb never give out your info to anyone on the phone where you have not initiated the call

This number is from NCO Financial. They are a collection agency. If they are calling, it means you owe somebody money. I know companies like UPS, and Bell like to use them.

...and the calls STILL continue!  I had previously filed complaints with the FTC and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and NCO is still doing their $#!+.  Jeez Louise.  I still think it's all full of... well, you know.  I really must have some major outstanding debt that I owe big time on, because I don't still any S.W.A.T. team or the sheriff's department at my residence to haul me away to the big house.

Anyway, the most recent event: They left well over thirty messages on my home answering machine in just over a week.  Same b.s. -- all generic messages, sometimes alternating between male and female voices (as if the latter was going to lessen the blow or annoyance).  They filled it up to the point where they couldn't even leave messages anymore due to full memory, so I left it like that.  :-p

I also blocked their number however they now phone from unknown name and unknown number. I do not owe Bell anything as they take a payment for my bill from my account every month so I do not understand why they are calling me!! Is there ANY way to block them when it's listed as unknown number?

Contact your service provider about blocking phone numbers. There are app's for cell phones, and blocking devices for land lines. Buying something is cheaper that having your service provider do it.

"Not Reeshad"

I keep getting automated calls for someone named Reeshad from someone claiming to be NCO financial. It's very annoying especially since I have a pay as you go phone. They keep cluttering up my voicemail. I'm afraid to phone the number in case it's a scam and I end up getting dinged a lot for the call. I tried to go on the website that they mention in their recording and my computer warned me that the site was not certified and that I should not go there. I would like to block the phone number, but my phone is a Petro Canada pay as you go so there isn't really any customer service to speak of. If anyone has ANY suggestions, I'm eager to hear them!

Left a message for a person who does not live here or has ever lived here.  This is the fourth year that a collection agency has tried to find this person who apparently listed our address as his.  Why would this company (NCO) or the other two collection agencies call a number listed to another person - are these companies thinking that just anyone will pay the bill to prevent these calls.

Well miss f****ng w***e sometimes ppl get place into situations where they can't and that's why the term "bad debt" exist in accounting.
Legal business have been set up for years to find ways of keeping people in debt with high interest.
Bravo to those who can skip these calls and remind them that they are not above the law and the only thing they can do is be annoying.
"Bad Debt" does exist!

A woman from this number called my house this morning asking for a man with the same last name as my husband, but different first name. I was confused and kept asking her to repeat herself. Her tone was very demanding and very rude. I said "No, I do not know that person, and in fact I know that person does not exist since I know the family" (the last name is unique). I asked her where she got our number and she said "It's listed for (the name)." I said with a chuckle "No, it's not" because the phone is listed as a combination of my and my husband's last names (so, total gibberish). She kept repeating, speaking faster and faster, "This is a business call ma'am, it is being recorded." The more I asked her questions, the more frantic she got, and hung up on me. I got the distinct impression she was calling from a collection agency and obviously contacting numbers that might be for the person she's looking for (not us!) and trying really hard to sound intimidating and sure of herself. Better luck next time.

I have never in my life not paid a bill.  These people definitely are scamming annoyers.  Yes, they persistently call over and over.  I do not answer their calls.   I had someone send me a collection notice quite a few years ago.   When I asked them to forward complete documentation with all details they just send it to another collection agency and so on and so on.  My son had the same problem.  A dealership trying to collect something legally not owing to them.   His lawyer sent a letter to them telling them to cease and desist or they would be facing a much higher figured law suit.   Again, they just forward it on to another agency.   It is a game.  Little do they know sooner or later they are going to get caught and face a massive law suit.  NCA are the final and worst offenders.  Keep track of all calla as to date, time, message left etc. on a daily basis.  Do not answer any call that does not identify themselves and you do not know who they are as like the message above says, they use a multitude of different numbers and areas.  There are laws with regard to these agencies and also time sensitive dates.   They are often chasing the wrong people or illegally chasing someone for something they do not owe.

This number was calling incessantly for a debt that was Bell's error and that we finally gave up on trying to get fixed.  I finally just programmed my ATA so that it will not allow this number to ring through and since I have my voice mail messages emailed to me, I just have any from this number automatically deleted.  My life is way more relaxed now.

Bruno,  these types of collectors rarely send snail mail first.  The reason being that most of their debt claims are old and uncollectable due to SOL  or that fact that when they purchased the debt by the truck loads,  the orignal holder only provided a name and an amount.  Therefore,  they have no validation.  They figure their best best is to hammer people with calls and intimidate them into paying over the phone with a card or bank acct number.  It is more effective that letters,  plus it carries the shock and awe factor.
