This is a legit call from Dell about a delayed order that would be canceled if you don't do something. This call is required by the FTC.

This is the Dell computer company.  They called me about an order I have for a new screen for my Dell Laptop which had been delayed.

I got a voicemail from this number. It was only a ringtone sounding jingle (about a second or two long) and thats it.

A woman answers saying it's the DELL cancel order center, puts you on hold with music before you can say anything, then eventually it disconnects.

We received the call and was asked to call this number. I called the real Dell number and found out that there was an order placed through a Dell Financial Services Account. The items were supposed to be shipped to some place in Texas. I do not live in Texas and I did not open the account. Talk about scary....

Anyway, I called the DELL Customer Care Number 1-800-624-9897, who in turn transferred me to the fraud department. The order was canceled and they are investigating.

I could not find this number listed as a real Dell number. What about the two tones when you call the number?? They say that you will hear two tones and then you are transferred somewhere. Very odd!

got the same automated message.  we already got our order,  called dell and they have nothing pending in the system as we already received what we ordered.

Dell called with automated message that my item was backordered but the online status said that the order was shipped. I called the 877 number back and got hold of a customer rep that confirmed that my order had been shipped. I guess their system must be screwy.

I got a call from the same number, but I did not answered. There was no message. I do however ordered something from dell in the last couple of days. I checked my order online and apparently it just shipped. Now I wonder if they will calling me to update me and let me know it was going to get cancelled (that is if the call it is legit;) I'll keep looking today at the status of the order online as they have not posted the tracking number yet...)

I received a call at work from Dell, telling me that I needed to call to confirm the order or it would be cancelled. I didnt' order anything from Dell, so I thought it was a scam. They gave me an order number that I tried to check out on the Dell website, but it was rejected as an invalid Dell number. I also don't see this 877 number listed as one of their contact nubmers. The message said my order might be cancelled if I don't call to confirm, so I'm just not going to call.

It is strange I did not ordered anything from them and left a recorded message,with order # when I called the 877-8683355 a lady asked me for my name and address, I said can you tell the Item I order, she said she could not tell me if I did not provide name and address and there was an order but not under my name, then I told her I didn't order anything from Dell and I did not want a call  from them anymore, it sounded like a scam to me, because I did not order anything from them.

THIS IDIOTS AT DELL WON'T STOP CALLING. I'VE CANCELLED MY ORDER LIKE 10 TIMES. I'M GETTING REALLY IRRITATED.

Since I did not order anything from Dell, I thought the "canned" call was a scam and didn't reply.  From the thread above it would appear it's legitimate?

My deal was not so great and the delay is a nuisance. They told me their system was down and they could not tell me anything. I will never buy another Dell now. I didn't delay payment! Then they hung up on me!

I got the call and - thanks to this site - I called back to prevent them from canceling my order. It did seem too good to be true and the offer was only available for one day. To ensure they continued to process it, I e-mailed them and called back.

Recieved this call from Dell and it is the cancel order line, usually calling because you ordered something that was a special deal and is now out of stock. Its dell's way of trying to get out of giving you their brand new stock at the discounted price. You should also recieve an email stating your order will be canceled if not responded to before 9pm cst of the day they send the email. i was fortunate enough to check email. although dell called me twice after still trying to cancel my order. moral of the story back yourself up with documents and having as much information to get what you paid for.

Ya it's Dell cancel alright... They called, I pushed the button for  DON'T CANCEL, and then got an email a couple of days later saying they canceled the rest of my order.  Interesting too, considering it was the extra part of my order that was too good to be TRUE!!!!  If you get this call.  I would call Dell immediately and make sure and BACKUP your order with them!!!!!!
