Would all you IDIOTS who claim that you contacted Discover and found that this is a legitimate # please stop misleading people?  It is NOT, which means you are either incredibly stupid or part of the scam itself.  I was willing to share my name only and they said they could not locate my account.  When I pressed them, they actually said they needed the last four digits of my SS # since there "must be two people with your name in your zip code."  Total b***s*** since I live in a very small town and my name is so unique there are only a few in the country.  When I told them to take me off their call list they claimed that would also mean Discover would not call me to report any fraud on my account.  Complete SCAM and the comments above that claim its legit should be deleted.

Its DISCOVER Card and its legit.  They kept calling my cell and it would hang up.  I called them back and verified.  They were offering credit line increases.  But it is legit.

Received a call last night from this number who asked me to please hold from an important call from Discover. It then hung up on me. They call me on a daily basis yet whenever I answer, I'm never connected to a live person. Officially on my blocked caller list.

I finally answered this call tonight after several days of mulitple calls and an email.  After they asked me several personal questions and I told them I didn't feel that they needed the information that they wanted, I decided to contact Discover myself and threw out the 888-347-9421 number and asked if this was a valid "Discover" contact number.  They said it is.  It is their "credit line review team" number - which doesn't make it better, but at least I know.  Told them to take my number OFF of their list and if they don't I will take further steps.  Hopefully I won't have to post further............

They called yesterday morning around 8:30 - left a message to call Discover but didnt specify who - me? my husband? Seemed fishy. Didn't call back.Call from the same number this morning. Message was left - dead air.

I just received a call stating he was from Discover wanting to see if I was eligible for a credit line increase.  I had just read the comments on here so I was very short with him & said No thanks. I contacted Discover, since I do have an account. They said they did reach out to me for an increase.

Received a call from this number asking for someone who wasn't me and I told them it was a wrong number. After that, I received several calls and voicemails stating they are Discover Card and want to increase my limit.  I answered one of the calls and it was a guy stating the same who verified my name (the right one this time).  They stated they had sent me a written request already, but had received no response.  I am not interested in a limit increase, but I did want to see what info they had on me based on other posts here.  They had my name, address, employer and the last 4 didgits of my card #.  They did not ask me to verify anything other than my name until I agreed to answer additional questions.  I halted the interview when they began asking questions about my housing expenses.  The caller got annoyed, but said I should call the # on the back of my card and inquire on my own if I as not comfortable giving out additional info.  Either they are legit or very talented data miners.  Either way, I am going to call and get a new card and alert Discover of this incident.

I do NOT have a Discover card or any account with them, yet this number calls me multiple times a day and never leaves a message! So, there is no way this is a valid Discover call telling me that my limit is available for an increase.

I called Discover card and they said the call was legitimate but I called them back anyway at their website number to make sure it was legit.  Somehow my mortgage was coming up twice on my credit report and they were concerned and wanted to lower my line of credit.  the call was from the credit review dept.  Always call back from a different number then the one they call you on because there are a lot of scams that actually do exist out there.

These people are relentless, 2 messages in 2 days.  I also received an email stating I was eligible for a credit increase. I ignored the email and now they keep calling and leaving messages.   I know who the first company I won't be paying when I can no longer make my minimum payments.!!!

I received several calls from 888-347-9421 for a couple of times, and this morning I decided to answer the phone. The caller said she was from Discover and that I was eligible for a credit line increase.  At first, I was hesitant to give information, but since I was interested so I provided info about my income and profession. After which, she said that she will just get back to me in a few seconds, but she didn't. And now I regret that I've provided those information because I'm certain that it was a scam. My advice is BEWARE of giving out sensitive/personal information over the phone...

I just called the security department at Discover. The calls from this number are valid.

I did receive an email notice that indicated my discover card was possibly eligible for a credit increase(not interested) and then calls started coming in... Using Google voice I marked it as spam so it no longer rings or leaves a missed call. Looking in my spam folder I see 3 voice mails and 14 missed calls over 4 days from that number. If it's Discover, I'm not interested in this type of business. If it's not, then I'm better off continuing to ignore them.

Kept getting calls. Ignored- but they keep calling.

Discover informs me  thru  the  mail  after  they  raise  my  limit  they NEVER  CALL!!!

I have been getting called by this number day and night.
They won't say why until I verify its me when I told them I needed to verify who they were they hung up.
But they still call back.
If they more business from me they are not very smart.
I can't stand to have the interruption of repeated calls.

Got the call on 3/6/13, 3/5/13 am and pm, caller id "unknown", no message left.

NOT Discover!!! Do not give them your account. No credit card company will ask for your full number over the phone. These people suck!

This phone keeps calling

Getting calls from 888-347-9421 - they left a VM saying it was Discover and that we're due for a line increase.  Not reall yinterested, and yet they KEEP calling and now don't leave any msgs.  Annoying.  Won't give them any info.  If I want an increase I'll call Discover myself. :)

I received a call from this number and called back. I got scared after reviewing this, and similiar information. I called Discover today via their customer service number on their website. They did in fact have a record (after searching another database) that it was them I spoke with via the suspected number. Your results may vary. In the end, it's up to you to verify.

Just got a call from this number.  Called Discover and they have no record of calling me.  BEWARE....do not give out personal info.

Been getting repeated calls from this number.
Called them back one time and talked to a Rep claimed to be from Discover.
Asked me the phone number and last 4 digits of SSN which I promptly gave to pull out the account information.

He said my account is eligible for credit increase,  I was interested and said to proceed.
I asked him if it would affect my credit history and what information he needs?
He said he would need bunch of other information, at this point I was wary of the call and said not interested.

He was desperate was offering other promotions, "set-up automatic payments" which my account is already configured for


My conclusion: definitely a SCAM call beware!!!!!

SCAM. DO NOT TALK TO THIS NUMBER! They called me and left a message stating they were Discover. As I do have a Discover card I called back. They then asked for my name, seemed normal but then they asked for my full 16 digit number. I hung up and called Discover using the number on their website. They said they do NOT ask for your full number and their security line looked up the number and said that it was NOT theirs. Again don't answer. If you do, don't give info!
