Receive many calls from this number, but they left no messages.  Who are these calls comming from.

Another website has this number as Special Olympics or special olympics of wisconsin.

Called several times, hang up on second or third ring.

It ring until the answering machine picks up, then hangs up.  I have to sit there listening to my machine blair out a dial tone for 60 seconds until it disconnects or I get up and smash the machine.  It's funny how we can perform call forwarding, 3 way calling, conference calling and many more - yet the phone company isn't able to allow us to put in a number we DO NOT want to call us and have it blocked from ever reaching us.  Guess that would cut down on their profits, eh?  Interesting.

I sent an email to Wis Special Olympics today to remove my phone # from their telemarketing list.

When I answer, a recorded message saying "Thank you for your call" is played and then nothing is heard after this.

They call sometimes three to four times a day.
It is getting annoying since they hang up on the third ring.

You acted properly in refusing to release your SSN to a stranger who called you.

I called to correct a  debt I didn't know about until I applied for a car loan.  Later on, a Ms. Williams called me back (wouldn't tell me the name of her firm) but wanted my social security number!  I said I didn't feel comfortable telling that to someone when I didn't even know who was calling or from where.  She was insistant.  I told her if she said my number I would tell if it was correct or not and the arguement escalated.  She threatened that I WOULD definitely be calling back and WOULD have to go through her, said I was the last person on earth whose identity she would steal, and that I was trying to be hard to get along with.  Would you give your social to a stranger from an unknown phone??  A big reason these collections agencies don't get the money they want is because they hire people off the street, who talk and act that way.  They know nothing of courtesy, manners, dignity, humillity or business ethics and professionalism.  What's more sad is that they don't care to learn.  If ever you get a call from Account Recovery Services, steel yourself for abuse.

Who says our phone numbers are "public record?"

The phone companies SELL our information and we are blackmailed into have to PAY to keep our numbers private.

The internet has made our numbers "public" and we need to stand up and tell the phone companies enough is enough. QUIT SELLING CUSTOMER DATA! If someone wants to be in the public eye, fine, but I will bet more than half the people do not. So... let those who do be listed and those who do not, let US be unlist without having to pay.

ENOUGH is ENOUGH. Are you listening AT&T, Verizon, etc.???

Special Olympics. If you call back the offer a toll free number to be removed from their call list - 866 544 4880. I at least give them some credit for that.

BUT you can call your local police department and start a police report for harassment.  Then after you have a number of these calls document - date, time and any other notes - call the phone company and tell them you have the police report and want this number banned from calling you.

Just because they are a charity, does not mean they have the right to invade or harass.

I'm just starting getting the calls starting last month, it comes up on my cell phone as DNA. This was a night club in Fond du Lac, WI I needed to call at one time, so I saved the number. I don't know if they still have the number or not.

Found this on the national do not call website..Looks like we are __ out of luck :(

call numerous times a day and night...whats the point of being on the NO CALL list if these people can keep calling at all hours......

Receive calls daily from this number only to have it stop ringing after 3 rings.  Not enough time to get to phone.  Very annoying!

These people continually call.  My husband answers the phone w/out saying anything and just lets it sit there til they eventually hang up.  Think they'd get the hint?  NOT!!!  I don't care if they are non profit or not but what good are DO NOT CALL LISTS?????

I work from home, and it sucks when they call while I'm on a conference call.  They bleep in, and I miss parts of the conversation.

I've never given money to Special Olympics, if that's who owns this number.  I don't care if they're a non-profit.  They have no reason to call me

We have given to Special Olympics thru the mail, but because of these annoying repetitive phone calls I am going to tell them this was the cause for me to stop. I've had it.

I hate the number of times they have called me not knowing who they were, and that they would hang up by the time I answered the phone. They do not leave a message.

I think this is very rude! Especially as we have given faithfully to their cause every year.

It's over now. I'm not about to do the Olympic run to the phone every time they call just me just to be hung up on!

The only way to teach these people that these phone calls do not work is to stop giving in response to them.

Special Olympics Wisconsin is what it said when I called the number back.  What is annoying - they let it ring 3 times and then hang up.  Not even enough for me to get to (find) the phone, let alone the answering machine to pick up.
