I am having trouble with this deb collectors MCM,they want to collect 2,900,last week I got a letter from them saying that I own 2,606.70. they been harassing me on the phone and I finally answer today and they agree to eliminate a 40% of the $2,900  if I give them $1,200,then $1,000, than  $800 was the most I can do because he was very very aggressive and did not want to let me go without me agreeing on any of his deals and he wants my bank card info,which I did not gave him. than after the$ 800, $75 pay in payments of a yr. I`m afraid if they are real or not,they have all my info but the numbers they use don`t match the letter`s number they send me. any advice please,please?

I got a new number over a year ago when I changed phone companies & soon found out why whomever had this number got rid of it. Fortunately I don't get many calls anymore. (Actually I was given a few names at least in the family they were looking for, clearly not even my race.)

The reputable collection services have realized I'm not the one they're looking for. If you were on their end, wouldn't you expect denials?

To anyone doing debt collection, what can I say to make it clear I don't know the person you want & be believed?

If that changes and for those of you who are getting lots of these calls, I got an idea. Next time you have an opportunity to establish an account with a company you don't want or need, use a fake name & ssn,(or the name & info of anyone they say they want when they call you) and phone #s from these pages for home, work, anywhere a phone number is requested. There are non-800 numbers for some of these companies.
They can call each other!

i don't know whom these pepole are but i have no bill's because i pay my bill's i got over 12 figures in my account so i don't even have any debt my bills are paid in full .

FBCS- They have called me from at least 5 different numbers: 888-581-7441, 866-594-8640, 866-594-8667, 866-594-8651, 888-581-7449. They can use as many numbers as they want, if I don't recognize it, I won't answer, and they never bother leaving a message.

I have been getting several calls a day from them (FBCS). They call me from at least 4 different numbers. I hear they are a sleazy debt collection company, usually trying to collect on debts that are past the statute of limitations (I have a few very old debts). I have reported them to the FCC, but that probably won't do any good unless a lot of other people report them also. Any time I have answered, I never get a reply. I would like to send a cease and desist letter, but don't have any info to do so. They probably wouldn't honor it anyways. Everyone who gets a call from them should report them, so maybe they will finally go away.

They keep calling and then don't speak when I pick up! So rude.

GET CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER STATING I COSIGNED A PAPER I NEVER SIGNED THEY JUST DEMAND MONEY WILL NOT GIVE ME THERE INFORMATION SUCH AS ADDRESS AND WHAT THE DEBT IS FOR TOLD THEM THE ADDRESS THEY ARE SAY THEY ARE BILLING HAS NEVER BEEN MY ADDRESS. VERY ABUSIVE TOLD ME THEY DO NOT CARE THAT IT IS NOT MY DEBT THEY JUST WANT PAYMENT ARRANGEMENTS. THE COMPANY IS SUPPOSE TO BE CALLED SBCS FINANCIAL SERVICES

I just received a call from them from 888-581-7449.

I have never heard of the person they were asking for.  I hope I do not get anymore calls from them but from the sound of it, I likely will.

I received a call from this number this morning.  The call was intended for someone named Hope Egran who formerly had my telephone number.  However, I have had this number for several years now.  The woman asking for Hope was very unpleasant on the phone and hung up on me when I told her that I did not know Hope.  I'm still irritated about the phone call and thus writing this narrative.

I just received a call fom them on 402-718-9810.  Maybe they are in Omaha, NE?  I'm in Iowa across the river.  They asked for someone who I have never heard of before.

they wont identify themselves by there real name they will say this is an attempt to collect a debts and want to make a settlement over the phone immediately, told them nothing is done over the phone must have written proof and ther name, of course they acnt or wont do this so they just keep calling a couple times a day , they are real bottom feeders they have a hustle and just try to get someone to bite, if u owe money dont pay anything over the phone thats just like burning it up

They are a last-of-the-line collection agency called FBCS (aka Federal Bond Collection Services, Inc. - related to SBCS ???).  Their internet site is:

They either buy their debt to collect on from other near-the-end-of-the-line collection agencies such as MCM (Midlands Credit Management) or are just another company front for the same business to throw folks off.  That is about all that I can muster from my conversations with their call agents and from what I can find from my research on the internet.

They are trying to collect from someone who used to have my phone number.  They do not believe that I am not that person despite me telling them numerous times.  They do NOT respect the national Do Not Call List (DNCL) registry.  Do not bother answering.

I believe they have the type of phone system (PBX/ACD) that they can control the number that is displayed on your phone's caller ID when they call as they have also called from a number local to me even though they are based on the East coast (PA).  I guess they could have an office here in town or using a call center here in town.  The company I work for has a PBX that you can do so, so I know it is a possibility.

those are what are known as "bottom feeder" bill collectors.

They buy up the old accounts for pennies on the dollar, then change the activity date on the account to make it look recent, then try to collect on it.

as long as you are familiar with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, that is against the law. Anything that is 7 or more years older, they cannot try and collect on.

Get calls multiple times a day from this number. Most the time I get dead air and I hang up. A few times I have answered, they ask for a guy who is not me, since I am a female. I will tell them they have the wrong number, and wont call for a few days, and then I have the calls again asking for the same man.

they call me an it sounds like a person of the other side is listening (but who knows it could be a robot caller as well, after i say "hello" it (or they) hang up .. weird !

Got a phone call today from this number, said his name was Josh and he was supposed to call me today.   I do not talk with strangers or unsolicted sales people I asked him who he was with and no reply so I hung up.

888-581-7441 *unknown number* calls me every morning and finally talked to someone. ANNOYING! Debt collector. FBCS is the name of the company. They told me I have a credit card I need to pay from 2000 but they don't know the name of the store. They didn't have ANY information. Small time company just trying to make a buck. Ken is the person I spoke w/.  Was rather nice at first until I said he wasn't getting a dime.  Then the attitude started.  Good luck!
