I get robotic calls claiming to represent (and that I should call) 888-678-9004.  Funny stuff, this is my Google voice number which is not directory-listed nor have I given the number to anyone.  Furthermore I have never answered calls to this number and never will, so this scammer is just wasting resources.

ARS collections.  they use multiple numbers, typically use numbers in your area codes so they appear local.  my debt is with a school who took over 42K in student loans from the federal government, then randomly "provided" me another loan to cover additional costs that the 42K didnt not cover(3K)--seriously, this was an online school who charged me 45K for 2.5 years of schooling??  I requested a list of charges, denied.  I requested management, denied.  I requested information to discuss with the school, denied.  person on the phone continually stated that maybe my memory was failing and it was common for debtors to forget their debts.  He advised of a payment of over 9K to the account, however could not provide information on where that payment came from, or when they received such a payment (as I did not make this payment).  I am paying my student loans according to the lenders requirements, current on all loans.  I have demanded the promissory note that is associated with the 3K loan in question, this request was denied also.  I will not pay for anything where there is no proof or evidence that it is owed other than some company randomly calling me and telling me.

Your big long essay is in vain. It won't change a thing. Debt collection agencies only hire SCUM, lol. If you are very bright with an impressive resume, they won't hire you because they know you are not going to be easy to CONTROL. These jobs are notorious for extremely high employee turn over due to job stress, poor pay, and employee abuse by the so-called supervisors.

They want scared little people who they can control, who have not had jobs as supervisors, or jobs where they were paid to THINK.

Also, I stated in another comment that I truly believe many of these calls are spoof fakes.

Some good but desperate people are in these jobs due to the horror of our economy, but normally these agencies won't hire good, bright people.

I think 800 call notes is somehow involved with the Spoof Card website. It makes sense. Creates a big fat round red robin that no one can figure out until....they figure it out. This website has GOT to be involved in these calls, one way or another.

This website does NOTHING to help anyone but laughs at all these people complaining here. They have ads for worthless remedies such as the DNC list and other ads to 'help' you, but you have to pay and you still get the spoof calls. So they profit by selling Spoof technology AND by having this affiliate website up to see who is being affected. They are laughing at us but I knwo what they are doing.

Sometimes the only job available is a low level type collection agency job or telemarketing job. Remember, zillions of Americans are out of work. All the jobs seem to be going to incompetents and illegals. Debt collectors hate their jobs but they also must pay their own bills. It's a Catch-22 and this f__king situation isn;t getting better.

Many of these calls are from SOMEONE YOU KNOW using Spoof Card technology to show a fake name and number on your caller ID. They already have your land line and cell # and are yanking  you!

Example: I had a brand new land line, UNLISTED phone #, from May 2011-July 2012 until I finally changed it.
Until I changed it , I received HUNDREDS of these types of calls from every area code under the sun. It got to the point where I had to turn my ringer off. I am in ZERO debt, period.

I couldnt imagine that AT&T would give me such a horrible phone number which obviously  must have been previously attached t'o someone who didn't pay their bills and/or had their number involved in  a million telemarketing situations.

I then began receiving a few on my cell #. For the spoof caller, a land line is more fun because it not only shows a fake number but also a NAME. Your cell phone only show the number and UNKNOWN or PRIAVTE for the name.

The person doing this to me made most of his prank calls to my land line because he knew I'd see a name. He could use ANY  NUMBER HE WANTED via Spoof technology; The White House, anything, and it would show up as The White House with the correct number. He once used a correct Sheriff's Department # to spoof me at  midnight. I had the ringer turned off so did not see the call until the mext morning.

Concerned, I called the number. The officer assured me that they had not called me. He told me it's SOMEONE YOU KNOW using Spoof Card technology. Law enforcement offices also get these prank calls, he informed me. He told me a long story about a detective in his unit that was pranked this way.

The point is, especially if your cell # is the victim, it's a friend or family member doing this.

I got over 80 calls in three weeks from CBE Group. Even when I answered and spoke, they hung up.

The person I suspect is a demented ex boyfriend who also happens to be a telemarketer with access to zillions of numbers, Coming to 800 call notes will give somebody zillions of #s that are already in use for Spoof calls, lol.

He gave himself away as the perp at one point. I got tired of his pointless games and chnaged both numbers last week. For quite some time he had me going, thinking these were all 'legit' calls. Now on my new number, I don't get these calls.

CHANGE YOUR NUMBERS.
If you explain to your phone providers what is going on, they will change them for free, one time.
'If you get these calls on your new #s, itis definitely SOMEONE YOU KNOW that you gave your new #s to !!!

The woman that I spoke to was actually very nice.  She called looking for an employee of my company who works out of a different office.  She offered to remove the number, but who knows if she actually did.  Not entirely sure how she got the numer in the first place since they are confidential, but there you have it.

Got a robo-call from them yesterday and again today for the previous owner of my cell #.  I've had this # almost 3 years- if I knew where this guy was I'd track him down and tell him to pay his debts.  Sheesh.  As it is, I can't legally call ARS back because the call starts out "this is a call for X.  If you are not X, please hang up.  If you remain on the line, you are acknowledging that you are X..."

Thank heaven I'm not X.

Perhaps you need to go back and learn the english language a litte better and learn how to spell "Loser" correctly. Either that or use that money you spend on useless internet to call people "dead beats" with and get vaginal reconstruction surgery to fix that "loose" tounge of yours before judging people about their financial situations. loser.

These people called and harassed me about paying a $7k past due bill for medical services.  The people's name on the account didn't even match anyone at my address.  They said that they confirmed the people living here back in March when they called some number (I had never heard of that phone number and it wasn't even my area code or any code around me).  I got very firm and mad that I had been interrupted (I work from home and attend school, so my days are filled with business and studying).  He said he would remove my name from the list, but you know how that goes.

Your an idiot!  Not all people choose not to pay their bills because they just don't feel like it.  Things happen sometimes tragic and people do the best they can and pay the ones that are important like the electric company, mortgage payment and car payment and then after all that try to put food on the table for their family.

You must work for a collection agency.  If so, I feel really sorry that you felt like you had to take a job that all is required is that you know how to yell, cuss and intimidate the person on the other line.

Received a few calls from 503-925-4167 and 503-925-4168, only once was a message left.  Message was from Kimberly, asked that I call her back at 1-888-678-9004.  Gave no other information (reference number, company name, etc.).

Fell on hard times and lost my job.  Unfortunately credit cards fell to the bottom of the barrel with importance of where the money I do have gets applied to...  so yes, I do have a few collection agencies calling me.  I owe money, I accept that.  I'm not going to complain like most people do, as if I am so inconvenienced because a company wants the money I do owe them.  But, I've received calls from other companies where they identify the company, give phone numbers, give first and last name of the caller as well as extension numbers to call them back on, and they give reference numbers for my account.  Calls that provide me information about who they are will be the first ones I call to set up payments with, the ones that don't give me any information (or don't even leave messages, or don't respond at all when I am able to answer their phone calls) will be the last ones I attempt to deal with...

Company name is assumed from other people's posts, since my one voice message did not leave me with anything other than a phone number...
