it's annoying to receive phone calls from this americatel company again and again and again. i don't even understand what she is speaking. i think it's spanish. today they called twice 11am and just before now. i reported several times to the do not call list, but it didn't work.

they are calling my direct work phone number about 4 times per day! I had 9 missed calls from them this weekend! If I say "hello" they hang up. If I say nothing they start speaking spanish...

I storngly urge everyone to go to the Do Not Call Registry web site and file a complaint - enough complaints will get the feds attention - to file a complaint takes maybe 3 mins of your time..

Its me again! I have had no relief from this AmericaTel company. I called both the numbers and they still are calling. The Do Not National Call  List will not take my cell phone. I have emailed the Do not call organization . I hope I get soemthing back from them soon.

It wasn't the end.  I finally decided not to deal with the regular customer service line because they seemed truly incompetent.  I found the number for the corporate office in Florida and spoke with the customer service there.  This time I spoke with someone who actually sounded intelligent.  I gave her my name and number and explained my situation.  She was truly apologetic and was willing to spend the time to help me.  We found out my name and address for my number didn't match the ones in their database.  Also, my number is a cell number but it was listed as a landline.  She made sure my phone bill hadn't been charged and she told me she would personally take my number off.  She was very nice and understanding.  This was about 10 days ago and so far I'm AmericaTel free.

I called AmericaTel back last night and got the same guy who hung up on me so I hung up.  I waited about an hour and called back, this time I got a friendly woman.  I explained my situation and she aknowledged that I should not still be receiving calls.  She said she would report this to her supervisor and would make sure I didn't get any more calls.  Hopefully this is the end.

I hope yours worked.  I actually started receiving calls from them again about a week from the request.  They are more frequent and now they come Saturday mornings, too.  I just got a call about 10 minutes ago.  It's been 34 days since I requested to be on their Do Not Call list.  I called them back and was hung up on.  I'm definitely filing a complaint.

I have been getting the same calls from 888-801-0123. I called the 1-800-501-0123 you provided and had my number taken off the list. My cell phone company told me they could not do anything about it. All my #'s are on the DO NOT CALL list, so I do not know how they come about getting my number. The lady I spoke with was somewhat nice about it, but that was after I told her I was on the DO NOT CALL NATIONAL LIST and told her if her company continued to call me i would get them for harrasment. She was nice and took me off the list. I just hope it works. If it does not I will let you all know.

I did some more research on AmericaTel and found their Do Not Call information.
Call:  1-800-501-0123 and ask to be put on the Do Not Call list.  The woman on the phone was blunt and rude but told me she'd take me off.  The next day I got two calls from them but that was a week ago and so far no more calls.

I get a call from this number several times per week.  I did some checking up and it's from a long distance company called Americatel specializing in providing long distance to Latin American countries.  I have let it go to voicemail and I have hung up on them several times but they have gotten more persistant.  Beware, this could be a long distance scam to use your cell phone information for long distance calls.
