Baron, Thompson and Associates called me last year and I did pay what I owed or what I thought I owed and now a so called Zellar and Associates called me saying that my debt was not fully paid off >>>that I sitll owe several hundred dollars even when I faxed the number with the letter from Baron ,Thompson and Associates they sliced my proposed debt in half so long as I set up payment arrangements!!!  When I called Baron, Thompson and Associates from a 866-227-8848 for some weird reason I cannot get through!! They told that if this so debt popped up again I could call them for reference!!....what should I do?  Im worried im being scammed but my case is legitimate too!!???

Thompson Barron and Associates now call themselves the BTA Group.  Mr. Alexander, the manager informed me that Thompson etc. is now closed.  He was trying to force me to make a arrangements with him for a fake internet loan for my niece. I asked for paperwork and of course they refused but stated that they would send it by email.  No legal company would do that. When I said his company was a fraud he got mad and told me that he would proceed with charges.  I told him to go ahead.  Beverly Jones is one of the person that answers the phones and she is a real B***h.  She also called me stating that she work for the courts and that there were pending charges that would be filed.  Again I asked for paperwork and for an address. She refused.  Mr. Alexander gave me the address 800 Briar Creek Rd something like that, to which I could not find on map.  He also became irate saying that I told people in his office that the BTA Group was a phony company and I said yes I did.  He got so angry and started threatening me and I hung up.  Don't give them any money.  Please just hang up.  I reported them to the FTC and FBI.

Same kind of story for me got that 514 4583 number ext 609 after calling and calling to make different arrangements to double my payment next week they disconnected the number and that's when I looked into it and realized their scammers

got a call from a beverly jones number 888-200-7850, informing me i was named in a fraud suit and that i would be served and my place of employement and also my HR director would be contacted immediatley.

Thank you so much for you post, these people have called my parents, in which I have not spoken to in over 20 years. I spoke with a Beverly Jones and when I had my lawyer call her she refused to talk with him. All the information you gave is wonderful, here is another useful tip, my lawyer said to ask for a Debt Validation letter, and have them fax it, more than likely they will refuse, and if they do you can tell them do what you need to do. Now if they do officially have an account that you owe on they will be able to provide this documentation which should correspond with whatever the original debt it. The number I received a call from was 888-856-2847. Also do not confirm addresses with them, funny thing is the address they have was over 10 years old so obviously they are scammers.

my ex brother in law received a call from a "Mr. Collins" of Barron Thompson & Assoc. claiming that i was going to be arrested if i didnt' respond to them immediately.  i called them and a "Mr. Drake" said there were two cases a criminal one for wire fraud and a civil one..and i needed to pay $810.00 immediately to avoid prosecution.  i asked for paperwork and he said he didn't need to shwo me anything that i was going to jail if i didn't cooperate.  SCAM

I googled the address and checked the Google earth pics. Nothing at this address and it is surrounded by homes and churches. I called the local ft. Mill police department to find out more about this location. Turns out it is a city owned park with walking trails for the public. After I called them back to ask them what going on with this fake address they started threatening to sue me and take me to court. Telling me they will leave me alone and I will hear from their attorney. After that I tried to call back but they would just hang up over and over. If you want to take action against these internet scammer call your local FBI, they have an internet crimes division there. I was able to file reports about this with the BBB as well as the Federal Trade Commission, the Department of Consumer Affairs, Social Security Administration for fraud and identity theft. I recommend going to this web site to file a report with the FBI www.IC3.gov. The more people who take action and complain about these fraudulent thieves, the more will be done to stop and prevent it.

They just called me this morning, no name of the company or whats its regarding but will send papers to my office which they cant because its government office or my home.

Well, at least I'm not the only one getting these calls from these "people".  Today I received a recorded message from Barron, Thompson and Associates stating that I must call back immediately before legal action was taken.  Having no idea what this was about, I called and spoke with a Ms. Anderson.  I was informed that I owed a payday loan in the amount of $4,583.38.  I was astonished and asked when did I incur this expense and she stated 2011.  I stated that is impossible as I was recuperating from a severe illness and was not even able to ambulate during 2011.  At any rate, she did the whole gamut stating that papers had already been filed in court and that I would be facing criminal charges as well as civil charges for this debt.  She went on to say that this must be resolved today and that the lender would be willing to settle for $910.20.  I asked her to mail me all the paperwork regarding this matter, starting from the original agreement for the loan etc.  She stated she could not do that until I had been switched over to their verification department at which time I would be required to swear by oath regarding the loan and how it would be paid off; of course, I did not do that.  Fortunately I live in Florida and therefore CANNOT theaten me to be brought up on criminal charges.  I have 3 phone numbers for them:  704-509-6605 (that is listed to a Mr. Mark Nivens in Charlotte, NC----did a reverse phone # check on it); other numbers are 888-828-2297 and 888-313-9261.  In FLORIDA you can contact FLORIDA OFFICE OF FINANCIAL REGULATION at 850-487-9687.  It is important for each of you to contact your own state's department so we can stop these people.

I received a call from this company last week referencing some sort of payday loan I supposedly took out in April 2012 from a company called Cash Cow. One caller said the company was Barron Thompson & Associates; the other said Thompson Barron & Associates. Said they are in North Carolina. So, I requested them to send me something in writing, and they told me they don't do that (not surprised). I told them I looked at my online statements, and had no record of any deposits being made to my bank account in April 2012. I raised such a stink that they came back with "...the originator decided not to have us pursue this...." Right....that's because there was no loan. I did a search on "Cash Cow," and they are not a lender. It appears you go to their website, put in your info and then they direct you to lenders.

Another sad fact...Normally these calls are from those with Middle Eastern accents. All of these callers had no foreign accents....they talied more in "ebonix" (sp?), using the sound "ax" for "ask," etc. Very disturbing.

I got a call today from this number.  I am too the point where these people are making me physically sick.  

I called my lawyer and he said legally once they contact you that they have 5 business days to send you verification in the mail that you owe this bill.  

I told the idiots awhile back to fax the information to my attorney and wow guess what my attorney never got anything.

I have gotten a call from Baron Thompson and A**. A couple of times. The first time they called that I owe money to a bank back in 2010 the funny part about it is that the bank closed in 1997. I am getting ticked off. I even reported them to my local police.

Harrassing phone calls telling people at my job I owe funds. I have no idea who they are because they never leave a business name.

I've gotten a call from a ms. Mayes and mr. Smith, regarding a load from 4 years ago... These people are ridiculous, they have been harassing my family. They called my dad, brother, mom and my 97 year old grandpa who lives in Alaska!! They keep telling me I will be served at my place of employeement and or home and failure to response to them means they're filling a croak act against me. I told them I wasn't paying s*** till I saw documentation... That was 2 months ago and they still keep calling. How do I get them to leave my family alone???

I received a call from this people saying they want to serve a summons and need my address. how come they filed a summons without knowing respondent address? this a scam. I would like to know where to report this people.

I received a call from a lady named Amanda Hall with Barron Thompson and associates. She threatened me with saying she had pending orders on me and she would see me in court and that she had sent papers out today to be served on me.  I have no idea what this is about.

I told them to send the info to me in the mail, they refused, I asked where they are located, they refused to tell me. I tried to look them up on the net but no real listing....

I received a call from Tara Smith referring me to Barren Thompson and Associates and she gave their phone number as 888-828-2297x619.  She said that a process server would be serving me a summons regarding a loan that I had with their company.  First of all, why haven't I received anything from them in the mail?  This must be a scam

i received the same call...since i didn't know what he was talking about i hung up! he told ME VERBATIM "when you fill out stuff online and put your info in those LITTLE BOXES people can get your information and you should have printed out the contract." REALLY DUDE!

These people are scammers. They wont give me any information, seemingly use false names, and wont send paper work via mail. They lie about law suits and using local police. I told them in Oregon they have to send me paper work before I even speak to them,  they said I was wrong. THEY are wrong and lie about everything. I can't even get them to tell me what the debt is for. SCAMMERS.
