I had just left the house when I got this text. It was a tad confusing cause my dog's name is Sterling. I wondered if I had listed my number with the vet in the event he ever got lost. So, I turn around to check on my dog!
My husband's comment: Don't tell anyone you acted on the text you thought came from your dog. If a text from your dog doesn't get your attention, really, what would?

ATT also advised NEVER to call a number you don't recognize or click on the text message as it could have embedded information which could be detrimental. Just like spam in the Internet, these scum of the Earth are trying to scam someone out of a buck or worse yet, take over your identity. DO NOT CALL that number. They then will be able to find your name, address, credit, etc. Just like you were trying to look up who owned that 888 number, they too will look up your number and gather way too much personal info without even speaking to you.IF you give them credit card info, they will surely use it to charge and you will be the loser. Again, call your phone provider to complain!

After discovering that these screwballs have called more than one person in Houston, I called MY phone provider, ATT, and issued a complaint. Seems they've been getting complaints for over 24hours and are in the process of investigating the matter. I wonder how long it will take since ATT is also the provider of those 888 phone numbers. Kinda like biting off the hand that feeds them....Call your phone provider to complain and your phone charges will be credited once you receive your bill IF you complain now so it's on your phone record now.
