This is a total scam and they will ruin your credit.  They are somehow connected with CitiBank, in my case anyway, and they "claim" that I signed up for life insurance when I did not.  The life insurance is not through CitiBank but it appears on their bill.  Of course, it does not appear to have anything whatsoever to do with life insurance or have any company name attached.  I have sent notice after notice trying to have this bogus fee removed, but to no avail.  It has now ruined what was once an almost pristine credit score.  Taking this through the court system appears to be my only alternative.  Bottom line - these are scam artists, but don't ignore them as I did in the beginning or they will ruin you.

Yes, it is a debt collector. Since I lost my job, I can`t pay any one. So I just answer and hang up. It gets pretty annoying. But I won`t let them get to me. I have recorded all their calls and I am now in the process of talking to the attorney general in Austin Tx. They have called me 253 times in the last 4 months. The law told me each call is worth $100.00 to me if I sue. So, they have investigating the number and told me that they will meet with me to pursue this further.I intend to follow through with this untill I get satisfication.

It's City Bank, collecting debts from Macy's. They (City Bank) bought the debts from Macy's and are trying, in an very suspicious manner to collect. One of their agents told me they don't honor divorce decrees from any state as well.  Good luck to all who deal with these ignorant creeps.

I get this same "Hello, Goodby" call every single day!  I do not have caller I.D. so I have no idea where in the world it's coming from.  Has anyone figured this out yet?  At first I thought it was a trick being played on me by an ex-boyfriend, but now I see others are getting the same thing.  What to do?

This collection agency called and left a message on my answering machine to call them back concerning a debt. I don't owe anyone anything, and my phone is on the "Do not call List". This is the first call they have made so I'll file a complaint with the FTC. I record every call on my phone and every call made after today is worth more money for me, as I intend to sue. You really should file a complaint, as this is the only way we are going to get these practices to stop. Document every time they call, it's important. I couldn't get the name of the company because their phone was very muffled and it was hard to understand what they were saying, BUT I will call them back and tell them not to call me anymore.

I live in Missouri and I think this is a scam going on in my area because my mother, mother in law,and brother have all recieved calls from this number they never ask for a person when you do answer if they say anything at all. They ask for your SS# red flag right there if you refuse they ask for your hsb credit card # which is something to do with Best Buy.I called them back finally got someone on the line told them to remove my number ask for their business addres so I could also send a letter to stop the calls the lady hung up on me,So I called back got some man on the line told him the same thing he said the calls would stop anywhere from 48 hrs to 30 days not even an hour later they were calling back and boy did I let them have it.So far so good today.I never could get an address for them.

I got this number in my home phone number.  I called back getting a recording saying that the conversation could be recorded for quality assurance.  When a representative came on the phone, I asked him to identify the comapny and he wanted to get the phone number they called in before.  I personally believe that no matter if the person is willing to release this information or not, if this is a formal call with no hidden intentions, there shouldn't be any problems by identifying the company who is making the call.  As a result the representative told me he was going to hung up if I dont give him my phone number and he did, which I consider to be very rude.

this number wasn't associated with citibank for me. did they leave Reference numbers?  they didn't leave a name either. just that the loan department or something, the law req's for them to notify us that it's an intent to collect a debt, but no names of companies or anything.

Yup, its a debt collection agency.  I kept getting calls from 8888993528 asking me to return a call in reference to a City Bank debt.  I tried calling back the number and it was always busy.  I then found this post and tried the number Sunny posted (800-448-9570) and sure enough its the same company.  Their normal business hours are 8-5pm est which makes calling them back and getting through to someone nearly impossible.  Anyway, I finally got this resolved by using the dial by name directory (option 7).  I just spelled out JEFF which took me to a man named Chuck.  Chuck transferred me to someone who could help.  Ends up, they were calling for someone else who had nearly the exact same name as mine.  They then took my name off of their list.

A man called Jeff left a message on my answering machine today around 10:30 a.m.  He said he was from City Bank and that it was not a sales call.  He said it was about a past due account at City Bank!!  I have never had any accounts with "City Bank" and have no past due anything!  I am very suspicious of their intent.  I called the number and got a recording that said all representatives were busy with other customers and to stay on the line.  No one ever answered the phone and I hung up!

Every day I get this annoying call that asks me to call 888 899 3528. I have no intention to fall in their marketing scheme and stay on the line to get removed (eventually) from their call list. So I just hang up. Can I file an abuse claim with the police or AT&T? Has anybody else tried? I also get daily messages from NCO Financial Co.

This is NCO financial services and they will keep harassing no matter what.  here is a list of numbers they use.  They keep calling no matter what you do, if they have the wrong or right person, put them on the do not call list, research them on line.  Also plug in all these numbers and read the comments people say about this company.  They also use different company names when they call so watch out for them.

NCO Financial it who they are and they are horrible mean people who will not even work with you on a reasonable payback. Kim as she said her name was demaded I borrow the money from family or frinds and pay this debt back at once I told her I was unable to borrow any money which made her really mad I told her I could work out a payment plan with her the amount owed was a $600.00 I told her I could pay back $100.00 for the next 6 weeks and that still wasn't good enough for her she continued to tell me how my credit will be ruined if I did not or refused to pay this. Finally hung up on her called back and spoke to someone elese and a supervisor who agreed to the arrangement I was trying to make in the first place.I hope Kim gets in trouble over her rude ridiculous attitude. Also something I found out after doing reseach on debt collectors most of them are ex cons who can not get a job doing anything elese.
