received billing for 4 seperate charges of 10.99 each on my phone bill...upon furthur investigation, found out my nephew was calling this number while playing runescape.

This number is provided by Jagex from Surpin. This is a number you call to grant your Character of Runescape Members. If this number is on your Phone bill it is because your child has charged your phone for members. This should only be a one time thing, if you find that there is multiple charges it is because that child has made more than 1 account members. 'Members' Is referring to in-game advantage of runescape. With members players are opened to more items/skills/levels than a standard non-paying player. You cannot delete runescape as it is a Java Webapplet. When you search your Hard drive for Runescape you are simply finding the cache files of this game ".Jagex32_cache" This does not how ever remove the game. Runescape run's off a browser and does not need to be installed, But Runescape use's the programming language Java. If Java Environment is on your PC you can remove it, Althou Java isn't always for Runescape as one might think.


It's quiet alarming at how much people think they know about computers. If you truly believe that deleting a folder that references to "Cache" is going to remove a program, You need to remove your self from the internet.

I just got the same charge and its from the gaming site sooo even if it was like mine it was at 530am on a monday morning dont think it was impossible... my son did it so im just saying for your own protection call the phone company and get the 1-900 number blocked from your phone. good luck.

I have  receive a two amount of 10.99 sameday same month   added in my phone  bills and dont know  exactly what it is?
I call Bell Canada  and  told me  to go to the  website and ask the  company Surfpin but the phone  doesnt even work. Is  this a scam  again to get me  on my Phone? It is the same as the one  in my cell that sending me  text non stop  and  billing me like  crazy even i dont even  answer and  look at it

The 10.99 charge, is for someone who's trying to become a member for the runescape game. You have to pay for it, so you can call the 1-900 number from any phone and it gives you an access code to play the game. if someone in your household has become a member that's why you are seeing the charges, and it'll occur once a month, because they are recalling it to get there new code to play the game.

J'ai moi même eu la jolie surprise. Mon fils nous avais demandé d'avoir des options sur runscape qui demandait la carte de crédit. Nous lui avons répondu que NON. Néanmoins, il semble avoir trouvé ce moyen avec Surfpin. Je vais voir ce que je peux faire pour Surfpin et je ne les blâmes pas mais disons que le fait qu'un enfant puisse avoir accès à ce type de service, que va t'il se passé s'il achète sur Amazon.ca ou autre sans notre consentement?...

jai recu sur mon compte un appel de 1 900 451-9555 et j'ai téléphoné à Vidéotron pour faire bloquer la ligne 1 900. JE leurdemande si le fait de faire bloquer cette ligne, empêchera eux de nous appeller. Elle me dit que la fonction sera bloquée de mon côté, que je ne pourrai plus appeller au 1 900.
Pour ce qui est d'eux qu'ils appellent,on verra par la suite??? Espérons que j'aurai régler le problème.

J'ai reçu 2 appel sur mes lignes et mon répondeur a répondu j'ai été facturé à 10.99$ et l'autre sur ma ligne de fax et mon fax à répodu et on m'a chargé encore 10.99$ j'ai demandé à ma compagnie de téléphone de bloqué la ligne 900 et demandé de me crédité les montants ils ont accepté parce que j'ai fait bloqué la ligne 900.Si cela peut vous aidez car ont ne devraient pas avoir a faire cela.

Interesting .... In review of my phone bill/statements, I found a charge in March 26th 2009 and Feb 25th 2009. Reviewed with family/kids, as this was not done. I called the 902-451-9555 to find out what it was and was identified as SURFPIN; called phone company to get details, googled and is possibly associated to ruinscape. Interesting ... in early 2008 my son with my assistance arranged twice via number to extend play,  however my son has not used since 2008, as his laptop failed and hasn't been used until recently.
I am suspicious this is a false charge.  I am enquiring with my phone company and will ask to investigate & block all 900 calls from my phone number in question.

I've been having the same problem every month 10.99 on my bill for surfpin! Watch the kids and the internet games, Did a search called the phone company and got all 900, 976 numbers blocked from my phone so i will sit and wait too see if i still get charged next month. Phone company told me it was a number dialed from my house but when i check the time and date of the call my kids were at school so seems pretty fishy too me.Let ya know next month if im still being charged after i blocked it!

My son is 10 and I've been billed about 5 calls PER MONTH!  From October up to and include February.

I work for a phone company, this is a pay service for an online game. It provides you with some sort of in game feature. Somebody calls the number and it charges your current company. The thing is your phone company has nothing to do with it. The fact of this particular 1-900 number is that it charges 10.99 per call. "Per call" mean from the time the phone rings so if your son called and hung up before somebody answered, that would still charge you 10.99. Your phone company can send that charge back to the company... but surfpin will review whether or not you acutally received a service, and send you a bill accordingly.

To stop your kids from calling this number, you can restrict 1-900 acces from your Phone provider, or inform your kids not to call 1-900 numbers.

I have 4 charges from this site amounting to 42.00, is it legal to solicit funds from minors over the phone.???

I had the same call billed to my account 4 times (at 10.99 ech) on Jan 12th....
