My husband and I were trying to rent from this man but something was a little off , and I did research found out he was a scam, and the property in question is for sale

WOWWWW I JUST POSTED ABOUT THIS GUY AND I HAVE THE SAME EXACT EMAIL I KNEW IT WAS A SCAM AS WELL THATS WHY I GOOGLED HIS NUMBER AND LOOKED UP PROPERTY ADDRESS TO SEE WHO OWNED THE PROPERTY AND ITS OWNED BY A BANK!!!!!! IT IS IN FACT A SCAM !!!!! ON TRUILA AND HOTPADS THE CONTACT NAME IS ALFON BUT IN HIS EMAIL HE SAID HIS NAME IS REV. JOHNSON BARRABI. SCAM SCAM SCAM DO NOT RESPOND OR SEND ANY INFO!

YES THE SAME EXACT THING ! I DID A PROPERTY SEARCH FOR TAMPA FL FOR THE HOUSE HE'S TRYING TO RENT AND IT BELONGS TO A BANK LOL. I KNEW IT WAS STRANGE FROM QUESTIONS HE ASKED ON APP LIKE DO YOU WORK LATE NIGHT, SEND A PIC, AND HE WILL SEND ME THE KEYS VIA MAIL????? HE SAID HE WAS IN MD ON MISSIONARYALSO SENT A LINK WYCLIFF SOMETHING WORK BUT THEN STATED IN EMAIL " WHEN THEY RETURN TO THE STATES" ????? I THOUGHT MD WAS IN THE U.S. LOL

Answered an ad for a rental in Hawaii researched the number and found this number was used in a scam. Thanks to all who have responded! Found out this man was a fraud. And didn't actually own the home.

This Guy is listing my parents house for rent when they are really selling the home. Total scam and this guy will be caught. The FBI should be close to him or them really as the authority's have let me know that they have several suspects they are watching.

same story here in Hermosa Beach, great little place for $1500 per month, same phone number but a different name..its B.S. they most likely never catch up with whom ever this is.. be careful!

First things first. Thanks to all who posted about this scam. I also received a call from him saying I was approved to move in. I was super excited about it and asked him when we can meet. He said to send him $3,000 through western union.  That was my red flag. Mahalo

Hopefully you didn't give them you actual Birth date. I was looking for a rental in Pennsylvania & just got an email & text back from them... Poor English and also referred to "my wife" in one sentence & then "my husband" in another. Guess this is why people end up going through an agent. I surely hope no one sent them any money. Never give your real birth date. Choose another day you will always remember if you need to give one for verification though reallly no one should be asking for it. I also often use an alias in the internet. That way if I end up get spam email later, I know where it came and that it IS spam.

I seen an add on craigslist for a house to rent. He makes like they are church people and his wife is a missionary. He asked for all of my information telling me he is going to send the keys through fed ex and for me to send the money through western union in maryland. He sounded nice and legit plus he writes back long emails and seems very sincere. Me not thinking of anything because they are supposedly church people.  If I could I would want him to get arrested!!!

OMG!!!! I answered all of these questions that they had listed on the bottom. Do you think I should call my bank? Or what should I do. They don't have my bank account but they do have my cell # , address,  name, where I work. I decided to look this person up and I seen it was someone who had passed away. I thought this was legit because they sounded like church people. This damn person and I fell for this on craigslist!!!

This guy almost had my wife scammed, good thing I googled him first and saw this post. His poor use of the English language, name and business was a dead give away.

As soon as we settle down here I had a thought of selling the house so I have to look for an agent, after getting one, we got a deal but later my wife advised against that. in other to keep our head when we return that we have to keep the house. I reasoned with her and accepted her advise. So I contacted the agent back and requested for my keys and documents. Later we decided to  have the house rent out, we would have give the same agent this job also but the truth of the matter is that the agent would want to handle it professionally and the occupant may not be able to reason along with him later.  

If you notice, you will discovered that the price we are offering is far below standard price, this is enough for you to know that we are not after the rental fee but the  absolute care for the property. I know there is no  way I can be sure that you are the right person to live in the house because we won't be able to see physical before sending you the keys and the documents to occupy the space. But I just had a  feeling that anyone who knows what it takes to put the kind of structure down should know that maintaining a building is mandatory, so if you belief you can take good care of the house and handle it like yours then I will be more than happy to let you rent the house.

NB: You can go check the neighborhood and get back to me for further discussion, any sign post will be removed once i get any responsible tenant so you ignore the sign post cause i have stop dealing and contacting the Realtor for too much fees i pay trying to ripe me off. It is available for a long term lease as we will be here for 5 years and also intend buying a new home on getting back to the states.Pets acceptable and References is a must.get back to me as soon as possible because i need a tenant urgently .

This number was posted on craigslist for a rental listing in Hawaii. Total scam, come to find out the house is 4 houses away from my grandparents and we know the owners. SCAM!!

I'm in Massachusetts and this number was given to me to "text only" to discuss a property here in MA. Definitely a scam, BEWARE!

Where are you trying to rent a home, this number is also listed with a home in EP oregon?  I am getting the same suspect feeling.
