Received a call that I was back due on some loan.  Call was from an Alan Westin, heavy Indian Accent lot of noise in the background.  I asked for proof of that I owe the money, and was told the police would be coming to my office or house to arrest me and then I would get my proof.  Caller said he was from Martin and Martin Legal Associates.

I got a call from work, too, from US Financial Lending saying I might get subpoenaed and arrested for fraud. Upon research on here, I think it's a scam too. Can somebody give me some confirmation, please?

I just got a call from this number too.  I didn't answer though, checked this website first, because last month I was getting harrassing and threatening calls from various numbers, on my cell and at work (I too work for the government), with the same scare tactics.  Now I don't answer calls from any numbers I don't recognize.  I went to our personnel security supervisor here at work, who called one of the numbers harassing me, and he asked for their web address.  The idiot who answered the phone had no clue what he was asking for, instead kept asking for his name.  Our personnel security person told the "receptionist/scammer" that he didn't need his name, this was public information he was asking for, but after the scammer kept asking for a name, he finally gave them a bogus name.  And like idiots they checked their computer for his name - this was the second person he talked to at this number.  After the third transfer and being on hold for several minutes, our security person hung up on them and said this was a total scam.  Yeah, when it first happened to me, it scared me too, but I know better now.

Stating that I owe money from a payday loan that I am current on.

So this is a scam for real?  I talked to that same lady with a deep accent and she is telling me that I owe them money too but only keeps saying the amount I told them and not what the actual amount is.  Scared me for a minute when she said I could be subpoena (sp?) at work and home and I work for the gonvernent so I don't need that.  I will block them from my phone now then.

They called me threatening that they were filing a lawsuit against me because of a site I used for a payday loan and claimed the site had went bankrupt even though I had already payed this company back what I owed them.  It worried me at first then they started asking for money.  That kind of struck me as a scam.  I told them I didn't have any money to call me back tomorrow this way I could do a little research.  Well I called the company they claimed went bankrupt to let them be aware this was going on and that they were using their company to scare people into paying them money.  Well they called back I told them I needed their address which they wouldn't give me, I also asked them when the company broke ties with them that they were using to say why I owed them and they couldn't give me that info either they just said you can talk to the attorney about it.  I told them it was the law that they had to send me a letter explaining what the debt was about.  I also told them I reported them to the attorney general which I am going to do then the whole conversation changed.  The woman I talked to claimed to be from US financial lending and her name was supposedly Lisa Fernandez she called me a s.o.b. when I confronted her with this info so I let her have it, I let her know that she was trying to scam me and that I was not stupid.  

Yep. Got that same call from"Joe" today.  I seem to get a lot of these.  I can only assume that the payday loan company I used at one time sold my info to them.  Anyone else use a payday loan company?  Dang Bastar**!  And the most irritating thing.....No one can do anything about it.  Because there'll always be that 1 sucker that freaks out and believes these a**holes and hands over their bank information or makes a"payment".  Oh and btw...I just called this number back.  It's a Verizon number and says "This Verizon Customer is not available at this time." I wonder if Verizon can do anything about it?  I have verizon....I think I'll check it out.  Final note....These guys are messin with the wrong M**** F****'n Lady.  Peace!
