The FTC actually filed against 5 entities for the Card Services scam. It probably only cost the taxpayers $100 billion dollars for this. The FTC is like a fan: if you stand in front of it, it blows; if you stand behind it, it sucks; and if you stand beside it, it doesn't so $hit.

Call from this number this morning while Nine Lessons and Carols was airing. I never answer unless I know who is calling or am waiting for a call from that area code, so I didn't pick up.

They call me on Christmas Eve! The nerve!!!

My story is the same:  Caller from 916-219-9223 said that I was eligible for a lower interest rate and then asked from my credit card expiration date.  When I told him that he should have all of my information on his screen, and that I could verify it, suddenly I was ineligible for the offer and he hung up.

Another lesson to never give an personal information (no matter how small or inconsequential) to anyone, over the phone.

rec'd this call on 9/27/12.  Caller ID states that this is a cell phone from CA.

I rec'd a call from this # on 9/27/12 @ 10:05 AM-I did not answer it and I am going to long in # on my cell as another telemarketer and when they call again I will see the telemarketer on my caller ID and will never answer it.  But I never answer #'s I do not know or that I have never called.  To many people out in the world just wanted to harm you or steal your info for their own benefits.  Next call will go to my local FBI office as I have done in the past, I do not know if they are helping but I am going to call them again today to complain and ask them to go to this web site to read about this # 916-219-9223. Maybe this will help or not but someday I hope they will get the people that are selling our cell #'s to the scammers, so they will stop calling, but then I wonder if our own government and companies that we deal with are the ones selling our #'s themselves to make money.  Nothing is private anymore since 2000.

Go back and read each post! Everyone is sick if these repeated harassing scam calls! We all pretty much already know they are all scams. It's the idiots behind these scams that are the fools!

Unsolicited calls to my cell phone by a FAKE credit card company.
I have to PAY to take their crap.

I got 2 calls today - Sept 27, 2012 from this number - one at  10:05 AM and one at 10:33 AM  - NO Caller ID, No message. I did not attmpt to reconnect with the caller, and after posting this, I will delete the number from my cell phone.  I am registered on the No Call list. Since there are several reports about this number, they need to be prosecuted as I assme the No Call list was intending to do.

Got a call from 916-219-9223 ... 1:54 PM credit card interest rates

I got a spam telemarketing call on my mobile phone from this number. That cost me minutes on my plan. I am on the do not call list. This is a violation of the law.

Just got the call.  Caller barely spoke English, but said they lower Visa and MC rates for BOA, Citi, Chase, Wells Fargo, etc.  Seemed like an obvious attempt to get my credit card info.  I asked which card they would lower and was told "all of them."  She asked if I had over $3,500 on my cards.  I asked if I could call them back and she hung up.

Got a phone call from this number and they are scamming people to give info on a card that you do not have maxed out. Then they ask for your bank account number they are SCAMMERS>>>>>>>

Why should I have to call this number back to have my number removed from their list when I'm already, supposedly, on the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY (which I'm convinced doesn't exist and is not monitored for violations)

Just got called with a machine voice offering lower interest rates. It gave the option to press 1 to speak o an operator. After doing so, and telling them I do not have a credit card, they hung up on me. Most likely a scam.

Because in South America people are very smart and know that it is a scam. I had never seen such stupid scams in my life until I moved here. You guys are so gullible.

If it was somebody you know, why would they hang up? Do people's minds just go bonkers at the sound of a phone ringing, automatically MUST answer, no matter what number is there?

Are you saying you gave your credit card info to them? What was your thought process in doing this? Not being mean, I have a sister who has trusted scams in the past, and still has open trust. We keep trying to tell her that there are mean people out there. She couldn't explain her thought process, so I'm curious as to why some people think that way, and what we can do to help her.
