919 is North Carolina, not South Carolina.

I just got a messge from the building manager of our condo...it said that I must call Investigator Jeff Dean from phone number: 855-504-4116 ext. 7002 about a check fraud issue. Is this a scam or what....I don't write checks.

I Got a call last week from Kelly Saunders ext117 stating that I owe $1200.00 for a check advance back in 2006.she also stated that I would be arrested for check fraud if I did not provide a payment to them. I asked her to email me the information to include all of the supporting documents. By the way she had contacted my mother, an aunt twice removed and my sister as well. she also told them that I would be arrested for check fraud if I did not call her back. this scared me because I knew that I had taken out a check advance years back but couldn't remember if I had paid it back. she was very threatening and forceful. she told me that it could take a couple of days for me to receive the email because that department was behind in their job duties. But nevertheless she said she would have them to send it but that I must immediately contact her back once I review the information. Finally received the email 72 hours later. However I noticed right away that it was from
William Scott and associates but there was no "LLC" behind the name. The letter included my social security number minus 2 digits, my full name, full address, amount owed and a web address. I called her back and ask her to provide me with the supporting documentation. She stated to me that a** the defendant I would
have to get that information. She explained that they were prosecuting Me so why would they give me the information they had. She stated that any proof that I needed, I would have to find it. And so I went to Check Advance. after speaking with the manager at check advance she explained to me that I needed to contact the BBB. She showed me proof of my payment and stated that this just seemed very fraudulent to her. There was something that looked to be a write off but she couldn't tell 1 way or the other. Nevertheless Kelly Sanders is waiting for me to return her call to set up payment arrangements. I promised her that I would call her back in 24 hours. After googling William Scott and associates I have read numerous stories from people with the same problem. I will not be paying them anything. I hope that everyone that works for this company gets what they deserve. They deserve to burn in hell!

Received a call from these guys, saying that a fraud case was pending and needed more information about me. Called back yesterday and today only to get a recording. No call backs from them. Thanks to this website I will not be concerned about William Scott Associates calling me in the future.

An "investigator" Rogers contacted my uncle, whom I haven't even seen in five years, and told him I was going to receive a warrant for my arrest regarding case # blah blah blah. I contacted the number, panicked and the man told me I would receive a warrant the next day if I didn't pay at least $500 of the $1500 I owed. I was so terrified and caught off guard I believed him, but I told him I would call him the next morning with payment. I contacted the prosecuting attorney's office and they knew about it already. They said it was a scam and not to pay these people. They took down my name and number and told me a prosecutor is working with the attorney general to hold these people accountable for their illegal practices.  I am so sorry to anyone else this has happened to, it was so horrifying. Contact your attorney general's office and local county prosecute's office if this happens.

just got a message and googled right away. they would never give that much info on a voicemail.  especially when mine isnt personalized.  it just says "you've reached (my #) please leave a message.  they said they were investigators & that i've commited check fraud.  they can't even tell from my computer generated voicemail that they've reached the right person, why would they leave all that info?!  not calling them back & definetly never answering!!

I received the same kind of set up as poster cec, that larry guy called claiming to be apart of the DA's office in the county I live in and that I need to pay all that I owed today or they would file suit and I would be charged a felony. He also verified my info, and Honestly it scared me at first until he kept talking and I kept asking questions. I have to admit he sounded like a real investigator...good actor! That Jerk! Anyhow I immediately got online after call and googled the company, and here I'am tellling the same story! I even gave them my email address! and he emailed me a collection notice basically. And from what i've read this is against the law! they are not a real law firm.

Keep getting calls from these people saying that i owe money. It is a fraud cuz they tryed calling me from a different number from illinois.

Just got a call from this number. "Investigator" Jeff Dean stated that I must return this very important call about a case on his desk and that I would need to provide the Bexar County case number when I phoned back. I'm sure this is just another ploy.

They called me too with all this pay 1600 or you'll go to jail at 2:00pm. The man said his name was Larry Scott that he was a federal investigator, they verified my DL # and SS# and wanted a lot more info- I refused to give it to them. I asked again are you threatening to have me arrested because I am recording this conversation he said no they are going to file suit? Who is THEY? I hung up and then they called right back thanking for verifying my SS# etc.. I told her i was reporting them.anymore. Hopefully they catch these scamers soon. I want to report them to the District Attorneys office- They called from 919-323-3885 and then told me to call them back at 818-237-3746.

Got a call from Larry Scott telling me they were issuing a warrant for my arrest for 5 count of fraud and  theft by deception if I did not call back by 2pm today and pay them $1600

They asked a lot of question about my identity and my former addresses etc. I did not give any further info they had my drivers license and SS # and a lot of places I lived. It's scary. I contacted the real creditor and found out these guys are frauds so I am going to report them to the Attorney Generals office.

They called us too with all this pay 3,000 or you'll go to jail at 4:00pm. The girl said her name was Jennifer Scott that she was a federal investigator, but when i would ask her specifics she would get upset and hang up on me. I told her i was reporting them and they stoped calling and would not answer my calls anymore. Hopefully they catch these clowns soon. We all need to report them with the FTC

They just called me and left a message. If anyone has committed check fraud, your local sherrif's dept. would serve you with court papers or arrest you. You would not get a call from another state regarding a local matter. Collection agencies will hire anyone to do whatever they can to collect money.

Some guy called for someone called Ky Youngblood and left a message saying that they were taking his license away and he may have a warrant. That he said something about if he didn't call back by 3 and something about tomorrow morning. He also left a different phone number. This has happened to meeting before, but I don't know if it was the same number and I think it was for a different person.

Got a call from this number sayin that i had commited chec k fraud.......He said he name is investigator Rust Bell.

Received a call from the number and I returned the call only to be advised they were working with the federal government and apparently I had commited check fraud and I owed them over $3000.. I said $3000 for what and apparently she said they ran a check thru 6x's..I told her that I have been banking with the same bank for the past 10 years and I have not seen any charges..She got real ignorant and said she was sending the police and having my license suspended at 4:00. When I asked how much my income tax was she said she didnt know and I said if you are with the federal government you know more than I know about my life so stop lying..

I received a voice mail message from an unfamiliar area code claiming to be from a senior investigator stating that I apparently have an association with a particular individual, and that check fraud was involved.  The message left a "county case number", 714 area telephone number and extension and said everything would be explained to me if I called.  I was immediately suspicious, because it seems to me anyone doing a legitimate investigation would not leave that kind of information in voice mail.  I also did not recognize the name of the so-called person I was purportedly connected to.  So I telephoned the operator, and she told me the 919 area code was from South Carolina.  That fit with the accent I heard in the voice mail, but I don't know a soul in South Carolina.  Next the operator looked up the 714 telephone number and could not find any business or government agency with that phone number.  She advised that I not return that telephone call because a government agency would have a listed number.

Previously I have received a number of voice mails seeking people who have not lived at my address for several years.  These are recorded messages telling me that this message is for so and so, if I am not that person to hang up.  The operator advised that I ask the phone company to block those calls.  

I believe both kinds of calls could be scams, and wonder if other people have received similar call.  This is weirder still because I have an unlisted telephone number.

First a guy called me from this number telling me that he has a case with my name on it, on a payment that I do called never payed back, through a company I have never heard of, then he told me he didn't have my file and transferred me to a lady who said she was head investigator, and that I was going to have a warrant out for my arrest, when I told her she couldn't arrest me she got very upset and hung up on me without telling me any details towards my case,

"Investigator" Jeff Dean stated that I must return this very important call about a case on his desk and that I would need to provide the East Baton Rouge Parish case number when I phoned back. I haven't lived in EBRP in about 15 years. If it were an actual case, criminal or civil, in EBRP, the call would have come from a Baton Rouge phone number, NOT North Carolina.

Williams and Scott Attorneys. Don't Pay them anything. They are required to put the details in writing given by your company to whom the debt is owed. Do not make any payment until you have verified the debt account. They use scare tactics, like threatening an arrest warrant. Lame.
