Their dumbest move was starting this thread in the first place. Their phone number wouldn't be listed on this site and all these warnings about the scam wouldn't be here otherwise.

If anyone ever doubted the maxim that crooks are stupid:
"This is the number of windows technical department and this is 100% safe."
"I have searched about thie number and this is a real company"
"this number belongs to Windows Technical Department. This number is legally approved."
These lies are so outlandish that kindergartners are laughing these buffoons right out of the sandbox.

A hundred percent? Wow, I never figured you fake PC techs could count so high.
Here's the verdict straight from Microsoft:
Avoid tech support phone scams

Strange call pretending to be from Microsoft tech support

Some relief came the first week in October 2012 as the FTC spanked whole gangs of these creeps with huge damage awards.

My phone number is also legally approved. I can call anybody I like unless what I'm doing with that call is illegal .... such as hustling people as a fictional "Technical Department".
Elspeth 2013-06-07 20:46:10 Unknown
I know - I have to laugh when I see some of the celebrity names they come up with....
Aguanga Cowboy 2013-06-07 20:42:11 Unknown
From what I gather from the shills is the following...
Ross Franklin is Director of Operations at Liquiteria N.Y.
James Morris is a leading American opera singer with a bass-baritone voice.
Justin Taylor is a fictional character from the American/Canadian Showtime television series (Name probibally not approprate to put on this site)
One again Celeberties.

Well, if by "safe" you mean "guaranteed to get you your identity stolen", then sure.
Sir Bedevere 2013-06-07 20:20:57 Unknown
Anyone who calls from this number is a criminal trying to get you to help him break into your computer. If you're lucky he'll only infect it with a virus. If you're unlucky you'll become the victim of full-on identity theft.
TSTEXGIRL 2013-06-07 20:20:25 Unknown
I meant to type your instead of you. Still there is no such thing as Tech Support calling people about problems with their "Windows" I have a Apple and a Dell and there is no way they got number thru my IP address to contact me.
TSTEXGIRL 2013-06-07 20:18:01 Unknown
Right and there is cheese on the moon. No one from Windows Support calls you in advance to let you know there is a problem with you computer. Nice try, thanks for playing!!
