Since this idiot already has your number, suggest you all call him back and let phone ring for 30 minutes. Do not block your number because he will not take block calls. After a period of no answer, the phone company will give you a busy signal. Call back and let it ring for another 5 minutes. When busy again call back do for as long as you want. You cannot block his incoming call no matter what blocking device you use because he disguises his caller I'd through subscription to service that generates false id

They call and when I answer they don't speak.  I hate this and it is so annoying! I'm in the middle of  caring for a 97 year old and they feel the need to disturb us at night and not speak when we I answer the phone. I understand raising money, but at a resonable hour and they should always speak up when we answer.

This guy named Bill Richards who said he was from Fort Lauderdale police department. Regarding "FOP Awareness program" called my office and demanded to speak to the doctor. I said he will not come to the phone unless he could give me a good message to give to him. He said he would just call him back at another time. Will not be transferring any calls from this scammer to my boss!!!!!

Multiple calls from this number claiming to be Bill Richards from the Browards Sheriff's office.  Wants to speak to my daughter about a business issue and then I find that she had already called him back the day before.  He is just selling advertising, probably not called Bill Richards and almost certainly not connected to the Broward Sheriff's office.

Keeps calling saying he is from Broward County Sheriffs office but really not from Sheriffs office they are just soliciters for some type of donations was very rude and hung up on me.

I am an active police officer and hope to set the record straight.  There are two police unions in Broward county representing different agencies.  My department is represented by the F.O.P. as is with Plantation and a few others.  BSO, Pembroke Pines, Hallandale, Hollywood and others are represented by The PBA.  Each union has solicitors that are hired by the respective union to solicit donations.  These donations do in fact benefit officers and or their in times of need (i.e. major surgeries to a family member, line of duty death, scholarship fund for surviving children of fallen officers, etc...).  Just like the Red Cross, your donation may not stay in your city's union but will stay in the county's fund.  Most fundraisers are for comedy shows, or concerts.  They are in fact legit.  No uniformed officer will be showing up at your door to collect money as it is a conflict of interest and not part of our job.  We will however be wearing a FOP or PBA shirt identifying ourselves and also have the proper identification.  If you receive a nasty call from a solicitor please call the local union that is hiring the company to deal with the issue.  They will take swift action.  On behalf of all officers I thank you in advance for any donations in the past and future

Received daily calls/messages from Jerome Washington at 954-316-4930 on my business line! He never states what he is calling about and demands an immediate callback every time! At first, I thought it was an irate customer; This is my business/work number: don't fill up my voice mail with telemarketing/soliciting; If this was a legitimate request for donations, why not leave a CLEAR DETAILED message, so that we know what you're looking for? Ughh

This number is calling frequently and is harassment.

Tim Ingram called from this number saying he was with the Fort Lauderdale Police Dept to say we were under a flood warning. He's called before saying he was with FOP.

That's not true.  A uniformed officer DOES not come out and pick up the check.  A civilian in "blues" comes out, not with a badge, id, or a gun.  I was told that he will send a uniformed Plantation officer out to get the check, so I would know it was not bogus.  When asked where the uniform officer was, he dropped some officers names, like he knew them well, and I should not worry.  It was for a benefit for Plantation officers that were hurt, and the benefit will be held at the Hard Rock.  I checked and there WAS an event at the Improv, 3 days ago.  How will my donation be posted at the event that was already held?

This number calls repeatedly, particularly evening hours, and usually there is no-one there, just static.  Very annoying.  And we are on the DO NOT CALL list.

Caller ID shows OFFICE and number 954-316-4930. The lady who called knew my name and tried to sound as she knows me. Names and phone numbers are listed everywhere, it's public and easy to have these so I wasn't surprise at all on a stranger knoeing my name. I figure out it was another scam. She stated they were Broward County Deputy FOP.  I am tired of those calls under different Police Associations which goals seem to be the same and they don't work together and attendants have all sort of different line of approach: nice, agressive, calculist, etc. Just hung up, they are "professionals" looking for money and they do not waste their time callling you back, they go to the next in the list. In the past I donate to these institutions and after receiving so many calls I felt very disappointed realizing my donation would never reach those who need it.

I got the same call and called the station for verification. It seems that this is the only way that you can support the police at a local level. I am glad that I looked into it. I am always happy to support when I can. I am glad that I did some research and found out the truth.

Just received a call from this number.  showed up as office on caller ID.  Guy said his name was Tom Neal.  He kept asking for information about my husband.  I kept countering with questions like, who are you.  He kept answering Tom Neal.  I asked who he was with and he said his wife in the biblical sense.  I hung up.  Why Isn't the Florida Attorney General looking at these guys?
