956-440-1397 looks like trouble. Caller ID doesn't show who's calling and they simply hang up anyway

Calls at least once a week CID says 800 Registry Co. it always disconnects. I tried calling back buy busy signal.

I found this info on all these calls with no one on the line when you answer (this was on another message board and I am quoting):

My husband Ernie used to be a manager for AT&T in Harlingen, TX, which is where the 956 area code is. His suggestion is to first Google the numbers for all the names listed to the numbers the calls are coming from, then going to the Texas Public Utilities Commission on-line and registering a complaint.

The dialing service is testing for valid telephone numbers and selling lists of working numbers to other concerns so they can call and try to sell you something! The telephone companies or utility commissions can only investigate the numbers they get complaints on, and the more complaints, the more serious they will take them.

Per my husband these people are not covered by the do not call regisrty as they are not telemarketers selling you anything and that is why no one is there when you answer. It is simply a test of your line, did you answer, how many times you answered, and times you were available and answered, IE; best time for telemarketing call.

They are not covered by anything except the volume of Public Utility Comission complaints against a number. That is why they change the calling number so often. Every time the calling number is disconnected the complaints against it are closed as it is no longer active. Utility companies cannot investigate individuals, only how the services, phone numbers, they provide to individuals are used.

report it to the TX State Attorney General

Got a call at 3:35am - Didn't answer, but not message.

Got a call at 5:38p - no one on the line, then it disconnected

got a call @ 5:58am

Called at 6 Am and left no message.  Google search shows it as a personal number
