If you can start taking pictures of your caller id as proof of the harassement. These are the same b's from the 253 area USF. Keep a log, something will be done eventually. Don't know when or how. We have to keep fighting. THESE ARE SCAMMERS, BOTTOM FEEDERS, LOW LIFE SCUMS, CRAP ON YOUR SHOES.

This number calls my mobile several times a day. I have answered and no one replies. Very annoying! I'd like to block it but not sure how.

This "LHelp" keeps calling and hanging up, what the hell is there problem. Does the do not call registry really work???
clw 2012-07-10 19:54:46 Unknown
No, if you make false reports to the Secret Service and Homeland Security, they will probably do something about you.
I'm going to assume you're just venting (perfectly understandable) and have no intention of doing any of this.

I have had it with this f***ing scam. They call every day/all day and local/county/state/federal law enforcement does absolutely nothing (including the joke FTC). I don't care if they are overseas-they are harassing U.S. citizens on a daily basis so law enforcement-stop the f***ing excuses and do something about it! My next step is to contact the Secret Service and tell them that this number is directly threatening the President.
I put the same post on "USF" as well-delete me if you don't agree. I could also contact "homeland security" and tell them these are young, Arab-sounding males discussing bombs and national landmarks-do you think they would finally do something about it?

I've read all the comments posted here, and it seems no one has the answers either. It's so frustrating like everyone said. The thing that gets me is that even if you are pretending to be interested they still hang up on you!
I mean they can't even pretend to try to sweet talk you to get information from you. Even if it's a scam, can anyone explain to me who in their right mind (or semi right mind) would just give out their credit card info without at least asking about what they are selling?
I remember the very first time they call, and I actually spoke with someone. They were explaining something about selling mehomee security system, and I could have a sign of some sort put in front of my house for a two week trial. I wouldn't have become suspicious if they could have answer my question with the most basic one "what kind of system is it?"
When I asked that they would hang up. I can't believe in this day and age that we're not able to find a solution to these creeps. Well looking for an app to take care of this, however, poor daughter's phone will be stuck until I get her a smartphone.
Thanks all for the venting!

I got four callls yesterday from LHELP and they did not leave a message. Who is this and why do they keep clling?

This is just an assumption but I've been getting calls in my cell phone ever since I texted a number to KTLA(Ch. 5) or Fox Ch 11) Los Angeles for their morning contest. Coincidence? I don't know. I never got any unsolicited calls to my cell phone before. Almost always they call my home phone which I ignore but calling my cell phone is a pain. These numbers are
9712201761, 2532468514, 4164992121. These number are not from Los Angeles. Are there anyone who experience this? Or is this a wrong assumption. I would like to know. And if joining a contest give these people the right to call you even if your number is listed in the Do-Not call registry. They never leave message when they call.
Thanks

I received a call from this number 4 days ago and I called it back and got the auto remove message. I pressed 1 and was told to allow 24 hours to be removed. I got a call again four days later so I am going to report it since my cell is on the federal do not call list.

They constantly call. I have had 4 phone calls today. I don't pick up since I have caller ID, but they need to stop.

If it's a landline phone number I'd suggest buying a Panasonic phone. I was in the same boat as you until I bought the phone. The phone can block 30 or 40 numbers (I don't remember off hand) as well as automatically dropping "out of area" calls and "unknown calls". It will only ring once if it detects that it's a blocked number and then it'll drop the call. Puts a smile on my face everytime I hear it ring once. It won't stop all of the calls but it's helped decrease the amount of calls. It's not all that expensive of a phone if you do a little shopping around and I find well worth it.

Block this number....they call all the time.
Kiki 2012-07-07 17:26:05 Unknown
Sorry but I owe no one any $$$$$$ so not a bill collector
it is a scammer trying to get bank or credit card info
so they can steal $ from your checking acct or use your credit card number
to buy stuff on-line or sell
your cc info overseas.
This scam is a big problem in eastern Europe, there are organized
crime rings that specialize in this .
Kiki 2012-07-07 17:21:41 Unknown
You are right these people only want to see what info they
can get from you so they can rob you .
Probably not even in the USA but spoofing a OR area code
so people answer. Our laws don't apply to them even if the
cops could catch them .
Kiki 2012-07-07 17:17:56 Unknown
Most of these callers are Scammers /Crooks/Criminals
so being on the DNC list means nothing to them .
Most of them are overseas & spoofing a USA phone # so our laws don't apply to them!
Never ever ever answer or give them info
they want to steal your bank info so they can
transfer $$$$$ from your checking accts via
wire transfers to another country

We bought a NEW cordless phone system and it works great to block annoying calls. Its a Panasonic KX-TGA410. You can save 3000 phone numbers in total. And when idiots call, you just go to caller id then you can save the number on a Call Block list. When you have save someone on block list, the phone only rings one time and it cuts them off and you dont hear anything else. Works great.
Michelle 2012-07-07 00:05:17 Unknown
Same exact numbers for me. If you figure this out, let me know - I get an average of 5 calls/day for the past 6 weeks from these numbers. I have reported them to the FCC do not call list, but I don't know what else to do
Hoppy1313 2012-07-06 23:21:08 Unknown
Just ot a call from 971-220-1761. After I said hello, no voice, just a click and disconnect. I don't like getting calls like this. Are they just checking to see if this is a working number or are they checking to see if someone is at home... The National Do Not Call Registry seems to do no good. I still get these calls and when someone is on the line and I advise them I am registered, they hang up without providing any of the required information the NDNCR requires them to provide.

Be prepared because if you're getting calls from this number, the next number you'll start getting calls from is 503-457-1003 from Tillamook, OR. These both appear to be the same place that just calls people constantly. So annoying!
