After an accident and job loss, I started receiving calls from Bramacint when I got around 3 months behind on my note. This went on for about a year. That company calls friends and relatives not even listed as references on the loan agreement and shares information about the debt. They do break laws; hell most debt collection companies do. Not enough complaints are made or law suits are filed to make them change the way they do business. Now, I do agree that one should turn in the car when due for repossession. At the time, I just took a chance because I didn't want it on my credit. Since my credit wasn't bad to begin with, I decided I'd rather have a late car payment history than a repo. I did get back to work and straightened things out, but it took a while. In closing, I noticed you said you "did work" for Bramacint. That would be past tense. So, who was the dead beat in that relationship, you or the company?

I received a call from this number. The person had an incorrect address and everything and even had my SSN. WHat is this all about?

I got a call from this number 2 nights in a row.  someone looking for somebody that used to live at my address and then mentioned they had some urgent situation they needed to notify me about.  I've called back several times with no return call yet to be made.  What is this all about?

Bramacint IS a skip company, they ARE a collection agency, and they do work for leinholders such as Drive Financial. There are no "investigators" in the skip world people, they are regular people with no legal authority like you and me, calling saying they are investigators to get you to surrender your car. The only person that has any authority to forcefully take your car from you, is a sherriff or a constible. Now, if you are behind on your payments you ARE subject to be served a replevin by the consitble or sherriff, and they will come to get your car and you just go ahead and try to say no, and think you can't go to jail for it, you absolutely CAN, it IS secured collateral, and if you do not release it, it CAN be a felony, depeneding on the sherriff or constible serving your papers and what mood he/she is in right then. No one else has any authority to "report it stolen" or forcefully take it from you, but if you are visited by the repoman, you should go ahead and surrender your car, because its not worth the hassle of being reported as a hostile debtor to your leinholder who will take note of it and always put you out for repo if you are 1 day behind,which they have every legal right to do if you READ YOUR CONTRACT YOU SIGNED WHEN YOU BOUGHT YOUR CAR, you gave them permission to come onto your property and take back their secured collateral for any reason, such as no insurance, no payments, missing a day of a payment,  taking it out of the state you live in, letting someone else drive it that is not on the contract,any reason they want. Most of the time, for the amount of money you are behind, you should give the repoman your car, and use the money you are behind for a new car!Look at it this way, if the repoman is already at your door, your credit is ruined either way. Might as well get a new car out of it while you can before that hits your credit record and you can't

Called today (01/19/2009 @ 4:21 PM CST)and left message saying I "needed to call immediately regarding an urgent matter." I get calls about once or twice a year regarding someone who has the same name I do. Since I don't have an unlisted number (not that it would matter these days) everytime a new "investigator" gets this guy's case file, I get a call.

Got a message today, called back to get a voice mail only, did not leave a message.  We'll see what happens.

Called asking about a 'relative' 'Charley Smith' who listed me as a 'contact'. I asked 'who' listed me, answered by 'investigator Kevin Morris' 'the report'. I asked 'what report', answered 'the one given to me'. By whom? -'the management'. I asked how he got my number and that I am on the do not call list. Again 'it was in the report'. this went on in circles for a while finally got the name 'Bramacint'. I don't know who they are, or who Charley smith is or what he's done to his Chevy blazer, but these phishing calls irritate the heck out of me.

Message on answering machine - Investagator Perez to return call and case #.  We had been getting calls earlier in the summer for some lawyer for a lady we don't even know and I told them so and now they have turned it over to someone else.  I am not going to return the call - they would never believe they have the wrong phone number or people. How can I get them to stop calling?

Turned my cell phone on when I got out of work. Had a message from "Investigator Brash". He left a message saying that my number had come up on a call list of someone they are investingating. Asked me to call back and left a case file number. It scared the heck out of me. I wondered who I know that would be investigated. I called the number back and received voice mail
but did not leave a message. I dialed O to see if would take me to a person but ended up in voice mail again. That voice mail answered as "Investigatons" but with no formal name like a Police station, etc. How they got my cell number is beyond me and I am also on the Do Not Call list! What is wrong with these people??

Their tactics are ILLEGAL! There are LEGAL ways and federal laws that govern debt collection. Debt collection is a CIVIL matter not a CRIMINAL matter. Impersonating a police officer is ILLEGAL. Harassing your relatives is ILLEGAL. Threatening debtors over the phone is ILLEGAL. Debtors prisons were outlawed several centuries ago. WHAT BRAMACINT IS DOING IS ILLEGAL.

Bramacint does not purchase delinquent sub-prime car liens.  They are a skip tracing company that is hired by loan companies to locate dead beats who are not paying thier car payments.  And the payments are always AT LEAST 3 months behind.  If they are calling relatives and freinds, it is because that dead beat put them as references. If you don't want phone calls or don't want your references called, MAKE YOUR PAYMENTS.  That's a no brainer....   Yes, I did work for Bramacint and am stating FACTS....

got a call from this number saying it as investigator Ross- made it sound like law enforcement- gave a different number than # on caller i.d.

Message left (didn't say who message was even for) saying it was Investigator Daniels (female) and to call regarding Case # - - - - - -.  Gave a return # of 877.456.9570.  Caller ID # was 972.226.3402 and the name INVESTIGATORS.  I googled the company and the true co name is:  Brasch & McCampbell International /12830 Hillcrest Road/Dallas,TX 75230

This caller made it sound like it was someone from a law enforcement agency. I googled the # and read all the complaints from others who have gotten the same sort of call.  I am not even returning the call now after reading all the posts.

Recd a message on my answering machine that my number came up in an investigation and that I needed to call "Investigator Ross" back @ 877-456-9576 re: a Case # (they left a supposed case #). I was suspicious, but concerned. Especially after I tried calling the number back. I decided to Google this number to see what i could find out in case they try to call back. I'm extremely annoyed, especially now that I see these posts. We don't even have a car or boat loan and very little debt which is paid in a responsible manner. I'd like to assume that they've made a mistake calling our number. But for anyone or company to misrepresent themselves as an "investigator" is WRONG and DISHONEST. I will not tolerate it.

When you sign a promissory note, if you use another persons name, address or phone number as a so called "reference" they can be called and asked where you live, phone, etc. However, if you tell them, in writing, to stop contacting you, by law, they have to adhere to that request. These clowns are a collection agency. And I use the term clowns loosely.

You are absolutley correct. My ex had a car loan with HSBC that went south. Now they call me, and I'm not on the note which is in violation of the FDCPA. What they fail to realize is that I am a Federal Bank Regulator and I have formally complained to the FTC under the FDCPA. They have absolutely no legal authority under Federal or State Laws anywhere to imply they are law enforcement personnel, using the term "investigator". What they are doing however is in violation of Federal FDCPA as implicating themselves as a type of law enforcement agency. I am going to drill these pricks to the ground. I RESPONED TO HIM BY TELLING HIM SHE CALL ME ABOUT SOMETHING THAT DOESN'T EVEN CONCERN ME, I DIDN'T CALL HER, I WANTED TO KNOW HOW SHE GOT MY PHONE NUMBER, AND ALL SHE WANTED WAS FOR ME TO ANSWER HER QUESTION. IN THE END, HE DEFENDED HER AND GOT AN ATTITUDE ALSO.

A woman said she had paperwork on her desk regarding [2 males]One whose name I knew only because I dated his ex for a short time over 10 years ago, the other may have been his deceased (for 10+ yrs) brother. She said if I knew their whereabouts, I should have them call her because they probably don't know what they've gotten themselves into. Where do these people get the numbers they call?

The company identifies itself as Bracamint Investigations located in Dallas, Texas.  According to employees, they are a private investigation company that conducts skip traces. However, this company is not licensed or registered with Texas Department of Public Safety (512-424-20000.  They are hired by Chrysler Financial and other companies who engage in unfair debt collection practices.  If you receive a call from Bracamint, visit www.txdps.state.tx.us and file a complaint against them for operating with the proper licensure.
