got a call on cell phone. no message (?)

They also called me. They say they are from Coventry. I do accept their insurance but I update all my info through provider relations and re-credentialing. I told this foreign women that, to ld her never to call me again and I hung up on her. They have called in the past to update their database and previously I only verified the info they already had. It just seems they have been calling a bit too often.

They called back today again. My staff got me on the phone and I asked her to identify herself and her company. She again told me that she was calling on behalf of a company that we are contracted with but would not reveal the name of her business. I asked for her supervisor. He gave me the same song and dance and I informed him that the address and practice name that he had was old and that the company that they claim to represent never was given that old information and that they can contact me by regular mail only. He hung up. They're trying to gain physician tax ID numbers and that concerns me, Beware and do not give them any information. Call the company that they claim to represent and report them. This is a fraudulent and coercive tactic

This very foreign sounding woman misrepresented herself as a representative of a company that we contract with for workers compensation as a medical provider My staff brought her inquiry to my attention when she asked for my tax ID and other information that the company and its subcontractors should have available but that is not foten requested via phone; these entities verify or re credential us via hard copy not telephone.

The caller ID said Boolfield NJ but she claimed she was in Boston MA. A Google search of their number yields no results for a legitimate business. I phones the insurer that they claim to represent and they denied using an outside party to credential their providers.

I feel they simply probe businesses they scour the internet for then use that information to gain yet more information to which they are not entitled and possibly for fraudulent purposes . Do not give them any information unless they can verify they are a vendor for the companies they claim to represent.
